i have seen a local escort 3 times in the last year and in a couple months we are going on a dinner date. she is a vegan.

should we go to a place i like where she can have tha salad bar and might find something on the menu she can eat or should we go to a nearby vegetarian place where i may not find something i like??

Perhaps it is insecurity, but I always try to please.  You could ask her, but I would find a great vegetarian restaurant or a restaurant with a good vegetarian menu.  Every large city has a few (LA is full of great places, Philly has a few and a number of really good vegan oriental restaurants.)  You could ask her or you could do your home work and show how considerate and thoughtful you are.  I would opt for the second.

Ok, actually, I really do like certain vegan restaurants - lots of emphasis on creativity, presentation, and flavor. And it is after all easier for a carnivore to adapt to a vegan meal than it is for a vegan to enjoy sitting in a restaurant with the aromas of meat. Lastly, I for one would do the gentlemanly thing and take the lady to her favorite vegan place. You may find something on the menu that you will really like '

to find some dishes that you'll like at a vegetarian restaurant, than she will at a steakhouse. Remember that vegan also means no dairy and no eggs, so that limits the menu even more. You'll probably be surprised at how diverse the selections are at a good vegetarian restaurant.

What do vegans eat?  I know what they DON'T have, but what would a "typical" menu look like?

There is a wonderful restaurant at the Four Seasons in Boston called Aujourd'hui that always has a vegetarian (and often vegan) selection on the menu which I often get because it is the most tasty and imaginative cuisine in the place.

One of the best meals I've ever had was a lentil stew and a good summer squash bisque is to die for.

I just put Aujourd'hui on my list. I'm always looking for a good restaurant. I'll visit it next time I'm in Boston.

It's always polite to ask if someone would care to go to a certain place. If you want steak and she doesn't, then she can order something else off of the menu. If she is a strict Vegan, then no matter where you take her, most of the food will be off limits to her (except for a salad or vegetable soup). Remember, true Vegans won't eat certain soups because the soups are flavored with chicken or beef stock.

Perhaps you two can settle on a place that suits both of you. If not, skip the dinner and see her later in the evening.

You just pick out the restaurant. There are some very good ones in and around Phoenix.

I'll bring a little meat. I never leave home without it.

I second that. I would just ask her because she might probably prefer a certain restaurant anyway. You are very thoughtful. I hope she reciporates and you have a good time.

...Is to let the lady choose. Ask her if there is a favorite place she likes. Also, be open to new experiences. I never had sushi in my life until I took a favorite lady out and she suggested a Sushi restaurant. I will never be confused for a sushi lover but I had a great time with a great lady and tried something new. Not the worst way to spend a night.

I will serve up a nice succulent little tender-loin, with all the side dishes......I DO NOT serve or deal in  toss salad though.

Then how about a creamy eclair with a cup of coffee or two or three.

If you wish you can warp and help insert the tender-loin into the oven, after we pre-heat it.

only eats sashimi....  and will only go to sushi and sashimi bars... and while not my cup of tea, so to speak, i've learned that there are things on the menu that I like... and enjoy...

my comment... open your mind... you might find that there are things you will enjoy...  

or as I tell my kids, try it...you might like it.  "right!"

My daughter is Vegan and it is far more difficult for a vegan to enjoy a meal in a restaurant that is Not vegan.  Its not just the meat thing its dairy as well. Its the way its prepared, meat and veggies being prepared in the same area of the kitchen.  Cooked on the same grill in the same grill space even in some places.  I have been to so many vegan restaurants and I am not vegitarian but can always find something great to eat and usually very surprized. You may want to try Sushi, there are so many awesome sushi choices and some with meat and fish, some with cooked fish and cooked meat as well as my very favorite the veggie sushi. Asparagus, squash, sweet potato, eggplant, shitake mushrooms, miso soup, cucumber, mango ... the flavors are endless and no matter what you like,  and if of course you go with an open mind, you will have a fantastic meal you will both deeply enjoy. Atmosphere is always relaxing and casually intimate...shoes off sitting on the floor playing footsy under the table. Plus its really healthy for you as well. You won't get too full and the after party...well you will have plenty of energy.
I am sure you would want your date to be comfortable, sushi is a nuetral choice either way. As are many other Japenese restaurants. One of my favs.

If you are ever looking for a fabulous vegan restaurant in Providence, I recommend you wander into the quaint little hole in the wall, The Garden Grill. Vegan or not it is an amazing experience that will over whelm your taste buds.

Indian is another way to go. Indian restaurants have many vegan choices as well, another one of my daughters favorites and mine also, and plenty of meat dishes for a meat eater. Be certain to request spicy or not when ordering though, always key here.

I agree. I am meeting a lovely lady the first of December in LV. I want to have dinner with her to get to know each other and do something nice for her. I gave her the choices of the eateries in the hotel I'll be staying at and she chose Italian. Doesn't hurt my feelings, and considering it's supposed to be one of the best in the city, makes for an even better night for us! She even said we didn't have to do this, because our time together would be magnificent. But I'm a little old fashioned in that sense, and I want her to feel special. I'm even going to have her favorite drinkables at the ready in the room when we venture upstairs. And, I will be taking the Tira Misu back to the room for an even more interesting encounter!

Don't you mean you serve NY Strip?  Extra burnt and crispy after monday night....Or maybe you will be serving crow in a few weeks....

I have a number of recipes for Raven.
Maybe some raven wings to start, but as you know I only do the right ones, say with a creamy white sauce.

I enjoy doing  a nice breast or two.


If you wish you could help baste  a leg or two with the natural juices that are produced then wrap it then  place it in the oven.... it does not take very long for it to become jucey and soft.
