Removing it would, according to voodoo, have resulted in death.  Back then, I decided not to disturb it, and the car lasted through four years of college.  Yes, it was a beat-up piece of shit, and cost me all of $50 when I bought it, but I wish I had that car back.  The Chrysler slant 6 engine was renowned for being nearly indestructible...and total repair costs were less than $1,000 over that time frame...only a muffler, brake job, and regular tune-ups and oil changes.    Even though I got a new car about month ago that I spent nearly 50 grand for...the memory of that old, indestructible '66 Dodge Dart will always hold a place being one of the best investments I ever made.
