I thought you were joking when you said that.. But if you are serious, yes, it's a known policy.

One time I was banned for 30 days (back in 2012) for exchanging a link of another site (which also has been closed) through PMs.

Yes, back in 2012 when the EC's took over they went cray cray in that regard

and YES, for those who were unaware, Admin not only has the ability, but has been known to, read the PM between its members, as evidenced by Curly's post above. It's not like they read every PM, or even a lot of them, but I don't think I would say anything via PM that I wouldn't be comfortable saying if I knew Admin was getting copied on.

It's a lot easier than that actually..

They can just set a SQL query that queries the table that holds the PM communication. The query can look for any suspicious keywords. TER gets to decide what is suspicious, but it were up to me I would include all the competitor websites, and some variations of the same..

A report can be created every morning to see who used the words on previous day. If your handle shows up, you get spanked.

They can, but they don't need to sit around reading our PMs.

why I don't trust PMs on ANY review board site.

I've had a few non-p411 providers want to schedule dates via review board PMs before, which made me uncomfortable, so I moved it to either text or email to finalize the details.
