It got no traction when I first brought it up.  Thanks for the legal analysis, DC.   When you put it that way, I agree its more dangerous for all concerned than it is helpful.

People are still doing this? Providers do you call them out? I find it very weird to even think one would write a fake review these days. Please share your thoughts.

Even recently, I’ve seen reviews for providers who I know have left the business years ago. When you look at some of those reviewer’s histories, you’ll see even more reviews like that (most likely for free days). I like to message them saying I want to reconnect with the provider as I hadn’t seen them in 3+ years just to see if and how they might respond. I’d say maybe 5% respond and, of those, maybe 1 has been true (but she hasn’t responded to me yet using that contact info despite me previously being a regular, so possibly still bogus). Still not as bad as the banana-score site where I’d bet there are more fakes than real and, of the “real” ones, many were straight copies from elsewhere or here.

Ha! I just did this exact same thing with a reviewer this week.  So far it's crickets.

I asked for my profile to be taken off the banana site, do to many fake AF reviews.

I’m definitely not a fan of the Neurotic Donkey site, but I think they’ve cleaned up a lot in the last year when they stopped giving free VIP days in exchange for reviews. Frankly, I wish TER would do the same. That way there’s no incentive to do fake reviews.
And speaking of fake reviews, we had a provider in Palm Springs who died a few years ago. She was still getting reviews on both TER and the Donkey two years after she died. It was shameful.

Back in my early hobbyland days I had built up over a year of VIP time.  Partly thru reviews and also the 2 days credit for making corrections in reviews that had incorrect/outdated information.  Not sure if TER still does the 2 day thing.  I never even thought about writing a fake review.  I can go back into any of my reviews and remember the day...what she was wearing, not wearing, which hotel, even the driving conditions when I went.  So many good memories!

Even more fake reviews after the policy change because now the fakers are dominating the site and the reviews are mostly about the writer, not the women.  Its a place for guys to puff up their egos, but has little value for other readers.

membership on TER, the cost works out to less than $20  a month.  A lot of the guys writing fake reviews are not even hobbyists, they just want access to the juicy details in the reviews to whack off to.  Obviously, anybody actually spending $250-500/hour to see providers would be a moron not to have access to the full text in the reviews.

Reviews can be challenged on TER, but only by the provider, not by a third party.  If you report to TER that you never saw the guy and so the review is fake, they will  contact the reviewer and ask him to provide copies of either an email or text message thread with you to prove he saw you.  If he can't do that, they will often be disallowed.  If he can't provide the evidence that he set up the appointment with you, then the review is allowed.  With that said, another provider recently said she had to keep after them about it, but the fake review was ultimately removed.

TER is no different.

Fake reviews have ALWAYS been an issue, for a number of reasons, so buyer beware!

Giving access for reviews always will bring out those guys. And most of them to stay UTR will make a positive review of a provider who they think either won't mind a fake positive review or has retired/taking a long time off so they're not looking at the reviews

Those with either an agenda or no VIP will add services to a session that some providers will ever agree to and then have the next guy expecting more then available.
Also according to a couple providersI know well they have given  up trying to eliminate fakes as it appears to them that only one side is listened too.
The net result is delisting. I know off more providers in our area that have delisted because of fakes rather then reviews with bad numbers
Going to the banana site when TER went down tried to get this handle there -could  not  as it was taken. Were about twelve reviews under my handle from here - 9 were cut and paste from here - three were of ladies had never seen or heard of.
Enough rant!!

Several of my reviews were copied and pasted onto the banana site from here by a “reviewer” over there as well.

onto two other review sites over the years.   I proposed a solution to fake reviews a few years ago but it didn't get any traction.  I proposed giving each  TER provider a PIN number, and part of a monger submitting the review would be a space for the encrypted PIN number.  You go see the provider, she gives you her PIN number, and TER only accepts your review if you submit it with the correct PIN number.  This would also eliminate providers calling reviews fake when they are not.  This would not completely eliminate fake reviews, but would put a big dent in their proliferation.   If a provider refused to give her PIN number when asked by a customer, then it would be considered the same as a no-review policy and she could be de-listed.

been reviewed before, or more to the point, she has been reviewed, but does not care to be reviewed?

TER would reach out to the Provider's contact email/telephone and explain the benefits of her having a PIN number for reviewers, i.e., it eliminates most fake reviews and gives her the confidence that only hobbyists that have actually seen her will be getting their reviews approved via the PIN number.  If she takes a pass, then the first review stays up, but there will be no other reviews approved without the PIN number.  Once that initial review is six months old, it will mean nothing as far as helping her get new business.  I could envision girls initially taking a pass on the idea, but then changing their minds as their volume of business drops off due to a lack of current reviews.

This is just something I thought of many years ago and submitted the idea to TER and AF, and nothing ever came of it on either one.   It probably will NEVER happen, because it would reduce the number of reviews going up, and TER's success depends on a steady flow of new reviews, so it will remain the province of us mongers to sort out the fake from the real.  This is kind of a drastic change to do all at once.  I haven't given any thought on how they might  EASE into it over time because there was no interest in the idea.

One reason not to do this is that it involves TER actively joining with a provider in the review process, and thus conspiring to promote prostitution (and on a Federal level potentially RICO). As is, TER is just a bulletin board for bored old guys and gals to share fictional encounters. But once it becomes verified by use of a PIN given to the provider by TER, it’s now a verified P4P encounter and no longer fictional. I would never recommend that to a client. Even if they win the defense costs would be crippling.

It got no traction when I first brought it up.  Thanks for the legal analysis, DC.   When you put it that way, I agree its more dangerous for all concerned than it is helpful.

I've had reviews from other sites copied and pasted here under a different users name.  There are so few reviews in my locale, it's not worth a full time membership.  Too bad because this used to be a very active resource.

every hobby site out there.  other review boards... you name it.

There are simply liars, cheats and thieves aplenty, no matter the site.

I know some of those fakes are written by women to get at their competitors, so it is not just the guys doing it.

That being said, I think TER could make a greater effort to address some of the more eqregious fakes and fakers, and certainly disincent fakes by removing the free access for reviews.

Update - copied review was taken down

High five to TER Admins!

If a site is taking reviews it's going to happen. Esp if they're someone who doesn't have to leave the house for work anymore.
Also....never underestimate what some folks will do to get something for free (VIP credit) OR a discount.

For the guys who think we complain ONLY when it's a mediocre or bad one I'll never forget how long it took me to get a 9/9 removed before lmfao.
Holy shit...the hoops.

May the odds be ever in your favor.
