As I'm writing this, I stumbled across "Risky Business" on HBO -- a film I haven't seen in YEARS, long before I became active in the hobby. Despite the movie's obvious Hollywood fantasy elements, I'm finding it a surprisingly accurate depiction of the hobby. Heck, I even know an agency where you pay at the END of the session (as a precaution against law enforcement).

I'd be interested in hearing opinions of what others (providers or hobbyists) consider the best film relating to the hobby.

I realize it's likely this subject has been brought up before, and I apologize if that's the case.

My favorite is "Risky Business" partly because one of my top ladies looks like Rebecca DeMorney.

"Leaving Las Vegas" is the most honest portrait of client/escort relationship I have seen.  It was based on the true life experience of the writer John O'Brien.  I can totally relate to some of the relationship dynamics between the 2 protagonists with my own experience.

But a Ken Russel guilty pleasure.  Kathleen Turner as China Blue, right off her success of Romancing the Stone.  And Anthony Perkins running around with a chrome dildo wanting to 'save her'.  Only thing realistic in it was probably the main guy's SO.  At least by what I've heard from some on this board.  And it even has a happy ending!

My favorite film relating to the hobby is "Killing Zoe" starring Julie Delpy, a beautiful french actress.  It actually inspired me to get into the hobby in the first place.  Despite the title, and though many others are killed, Zoe is spared (thankfully).  Its about a bank robbery in france on Bastille day.  It feels a little like Reservoir Dogs which was also written by Roger Avary.

This movie has great lines like:
"Sometimes you just need the honesty and security of a whore."

"...in Paris it's good to smell like you've been fucking.  It will make them respect you."

Zoe: "I am NOT a prostitute!"
Zed: "That's great.  Can I have my 1000 francs back then?"

with how it portrays providers.  The movie is about two people who are both prostitutes in their own way.  Michelle Pfeiffer plays an agency girl who wants to make it as a professional singer, and Jeff Bridges plays an extremely talented jazz pianist who "prostitutes" his talent by playing cheesy hotel lounge gigs with his brother.  It works as a great romantic
movie, and if you're a Pfeiffer fan like me you'll love it.

At one point, as they are beginning to get involved, and are having a fight, he throws the job in her face, and she retorts "at least my brother's not my pimp!"

In another scene, as she is stammering through an attempt to get past the necessary acknowledgement by both of them of her past, she says "I didn't ALWAYS.... I mean, if I LIKED the guy..."

In another scene, she describes to him how she deals emotionally with working, and says "You try to put it in a little empty place inside, and pretty soon all you are is empty".

Of course, these scenes just fit the stereotypical bullshit about how prostitutes are degrading themselves, and I know from personal experience that this are not true of many, many women in the business (including most of those who participate regularly on this board); hence my remark about how I disagree with the movie.

Still, it's worth watching.  And it has one of the greatest double-entendre lines of all time when, after a discussion of how expensive Pfeiffer's favorite brand of cigarettes are, she says "I figure if you're going to be sticking something in your mouth, you might as well make it the best, right?"
