Just a reminder that there are other discussion boards on TER that you may find 'fits' some discussions.

The ONE that comes to mind is Politics and Religion.  Discussions on these subjects should be on that board, not on General Discussion.  

And, if you have thin skin, don't post!  It is not a board if you get your feelings hurt too easily.  

But, it can be very entertaining board at times.

And that is THE problem. People with "thick" skin come on the regular boards and feel everybody else should have 'thick' skin.  When the PR group makes comments outside of PR they chase away regular members and providers

 
They bring their baggage and attitude to everywhere else. They come out of PR all amped up or from years of arguing with the same people, New people and those that don't visit PR aren't used to it or feel like 'outsiders' because the Laffy, BPOS, CDL, etc  crap spills over and infects the other boards.

That is a TER Mod issue. TER mods feel everybody else should grow a pair, as do those who migrate from the PR board.
Even your post says as much.

to other boards from the P & R board, and I resent your characterization that I do.  However, if others bring it in the form of personal attacks, I will stand up for myself.  That's called "having a pair"  If Admin just stuck to the rule about removing flames and off-topic posts, I don't think there would be much of a problem on other boards.  As far as P & R, its the wild west, with gunslingers walking around just waiting to "plug" you, and I agree its not a place for thin-skinned people.   I will often use sarcasm, obtuseness  and humor in my responses, but its not mean-spirited unless someone has attacked me.  So if you're lumping me with  those that put their rabid political commentary on this or other boards, then you haven't done your homework.  There are three or four guys from P & R that follow conservative TER members around the various boards in order to harass and attack them.  I'm one of the targets, not one of the perpetrators, so with all due respect, lumping me in with those guys shows you don't know what you're talking about.    As I said, the solution is to remove flames and off-topic posts AS IT SAYS THEY WILL DO AT THE TOP THIS BOARD, and the problem  will  go away.  

That said, as someone who tries not to bring a "P&R attitude" to other boards, I probably fail some of the time and so do you. But I agree that in our direct comments to each other we tend to be pretty civil. But you and BPS certainly BOTH bring your cage-match mentality to the K-Girl Board and I haven't noticed the combativeness is all his fault. I'll concede the K-Girl board has been the "other toxic swamp" here for years. And that's not entirely your fault.
As for P&R, I don't shrink from the fact that I've contributed mightily to making that place a Monkey House of poo flinging. But most of the regular posters there are equally guilty. I think TER tolerates it because they need the activity and there are probably a lot of lurkers who are entertained by it.
I used to be more moderate there but the present political situation has pushed me into total intolerance of the right. I've had it.

bringing political discussions or attacks onto other boards.  We have disagreed on this board, but it is usually on a topic that is germane to this board and is not about politics.  I admit I enter the P & R swamp a few times a week, and its a good place to blow off some steam and poke the bear a little with the really wound-up dudes for entertainment value via the ensuing meltdown they invariable have, but I think there are few times, if any, where I have added a political jab or comment to my posts on this board on other topics, or on the Kgirl or Regional boards.

 
And thank you for the compliment in your headline.  The English language is rich with opportunities to derive multiple meanings from words for everyone's amusement.  I wasn't sure whether I should use "obtuseness", but autocorrect here did not flag it, so there it is with TER's seal of approval.  Since you put it in quotation marks, I take it that Conan disagrees.    Lol

The P&R forum is the wild west.  It's a good place to keep feuds etc.   It's kind of annoying to see them spread to other forums.

I am not a fan of censorship, but all things have limits otherwise the worst crowd out the best.  So I do think moderators should be more active in nipping personal attacks in the bud.  I know they will inevitably play favorites but the alternative is worse.

BLPOS has been causing drama on the K-Girl board since it's very first day and he does so with people who have NEVER been on P&R so once again a certain idiot has things all wrong.

 
Back to the subject at hand. I am hardly a fan of censorship, but I have no problems if Admin starting deleting political posts on this board regardless of who posts them. It might cut down on the stalking I get from certain members here, especially the one who has the words "your messiah" in virtually every post he directs at me. I don't respond to any of them, but that doesn't seem to count for anything I suppose.

Yes, you do CDL. You add to the drama. You start every response with a lawyer "100 percent disagree" and attack from there. The response, "I don't do anything" is disingenuous. If you didn't react at all and took the higher ground, we wouldn't have 50 response threads. Exactly what I mean by bringing the shit show and attitude from P$R onto the General Boards.

 
"Grow a Pair"? Why not "Grow Up" and learn to not let the little kids get under your skin and HAVE to respond to everything. That isn't growing a pair, that is grade school behavior or in your case, welcome to the show, Boomer. Being the 'big man' and the accompanying attitude is exactly what I'm talking about. It's not just Laffy, BPOS, etc., you're feeding into the drama. And voila, the proof of the taste is in the pudding, and we're in a big fat bowl of pudding.
