OK... I've only been in TER for about 7 months and am not usually one to post reviews. However I do, on occasion, post one.

I've noticed that some folks post "mini" reviews.

Are minis normally followed by a regular review? Are they only for visiting ladies in order to "get the word out"? And what are the guidelines for determining if someone is local, a frequent visitor or what?

Yes, minis MUST be followed by a full review and they are only allowed on a visiting lady who has 3 reviews or less during the past 3 months. They are never allowed on local ladies. The guidlines about where she is based is usually her "home" city but sometimes it is a judgement call by the mod.

If minis are your thing, write them with enough detail and provide a link to a website or ad page. Be honest and don't embellish on what did or did not happen... Sadly, many minis I've read, guys are plain "shills" for the provider and even in a world where integrity is lacking, honesty among the anonymous is at the very least expected.

As for many of the full reviews are questionable, I'd recommend that you gleam them for general information because YOUR experience will be different. It is after all an YMMV biz.

Rules? Be truthful and the mods are likely to welcome the post.

The clarification will help in the future and I appreciate the input. I had tried searching out info but couldn't find anything that had most of these points in it.

And I truly understand the full meaning of YMMV after 6 years.

Thanks again.....

You would do best to ask the moderator of the regional board you post on what his policy on mini-reviews is. Different regions have different "cultures", and mini-reviews are more a part of some than others.

Polecat explained how mini-reviews work on the boards he moderates, and his policy is well thought out and suitable to his boards.

On the Los Angeles board in particular, which I moderate, a member needs to have his review of the provider in the TER reviews database, then he can post a mini-review and draw attention to his review and the provider.

The policy came about because so many people on the Los Angeles board were posting mini-reviews that really were just shill or promo posts. They usually were just a way of getting around review or posting guidelines.

TER is, first and foremost, about reviews, so we encourage you all to contribute!
