Really just giving our new buddy some shit- but I do hope that he occasionally will help to explain to the rest of us when some southern folk do some backward ass country type shit (trying to uotlaw gays or somesuch)and then expect to be counted as keeping up with the times

And I know that NC is actually a pretty with it place what with the strong universities and all...

As much as I know that the South is home to the strongest conservative element of our society (and North Carolina is not immune...just ask Barbara Ehrenreich about how hew books were censored there), generalizations are rarely a good thing.

You said you were just giving him some shit (with the subject line)...and then proceeded to use a stereotype to mention an extremely isolated incident that I think is beyond even most conservative Southerners.  I mean, that happened in the city that celebrates the verdict of the Scopes trial.

I know you were not being that serious, buddy...peace.  I just hate using labels.  I will get off the soapbox now. :P
