First off, I like dogs.

Last year I visited a provider who had a small dog. After greeting the little fellow he disappeared for the duration of the session. I visited the woman several times, never thinking much about her pet.

Then I spent the night with a new provider. She also had a small dog, very well-trained, and again I didn't think much about it.

The third adventure-- mind, this is three providers IN A ROW-- ALSO had a dog. Again a small one. All the dogs were of different breeds, one was a mix (not a mongrel, a mix of two pure breeds), and they were all less than 18 inches from floor to top of head.

Is this a new fashion statement? I know that dogs are good companions and serve as security to an extent, but criminenently! Three in a row? Do providers have a secret dog-owner club that none of the hobbyists are permitted to know about? Was there some RomCom about an escort with a small dog that came out recently that I am oblivious to? Should I expect EVERY provider I book with to meet me with a small dog on a leash from now on?

Does etiquette demand that I remember all the NAMES of the dogs? And what happens if I get them confused and refer to them by the wrong name? I mean, crimeny! It's hard enough to keep the names of the WOMEN straight let alone their dogs.

What other changes are the providers getting into. I hope they don't go on a cat thing. Then there would be names for the cat, the dog, the woman herself... Geez.

So kick this tin can down the thread and see if anyone answers ANY of the questions I have about this

Over the years i have seen many providers with either cats or small dogs (and a couple with birds), but I don't tjink I have seen three in a row. The small dog incidences for me have run from, a little dog locked out on the balcony during our session to one sleeping on the bed with me and the provider in an overnight session. (I was between the provider and the dog. At least the dog didn't try to get in between us. Lol)

Probably just a girl thing in general and a coincidence you saw three in a row.  Big dog guy myself but I've met some pretty cool, not annoying small dogs.

Dogs are great. One gets lonely. Unconditional love, furriness, and a 24/7 cuddle buddy. Can't go wrong. Except when the dog gets on the bed and licks things.

I just pet them in a friendly way, cuddle, and play with them. lmao

:D

Hey I happen to like dogs too.

I'm very allergic to cats though even though I like playing with them. I start sneezing and having runny nose when I visit providers who has cats. It gets to be a bit bothersome during a session

An inarguably, fabulously successful provider on these pages gave up pets of any kind 15+ years ago because after crunching the numbers she found her dog that she truly LOVED was costing her a minimum of $5K/mo in lost appointments, clients, time, maintenance etc etc. She found a very good and loving home for her dog, and then went on to the success that she is today.

I love dogs. I grew up with dogs. I feel dogs domesticated man as much as we domesticated them. But in this modern, everything costs more than it did yesterday world we've created a dog (or cat) is about as fiscally prudent as having 6 or more children.

who used to have 5 cats. I really don't mind them. I have a small dog at home myself. As long as they don't interfere with the session, its all good.

One long time hobbyist in DC encountered a situation where there was a monkey in the room. A small monkey...LMAO :D

Staffordshire Terriers (aka Pit Bulls), but maybe that fad has played out.

Now that you mention it, it seems that the little breed of dog is pretty popular with the gals.

In any case, I like dogs and cats, so not a problem for me.

There are more important things in life than money, like companionship, unconditional love, saving a life that would have otherwise been ended, and exercise.  We as providers lead a very isolating life, having a dog opens you up to more social oppurtunities and friendships.  Just go to a dog park and you will see what I mean.  I have a very sweet, pretty ginger and white coated terrier/pit mix who is a social butterfly and people love her even though she has the classic pit head.  I also disagree that dogs cost more than children, because I have one.  My child support is definitely more per month then what I spend on my dog and cleaning up after my dog.

And unless "cat hair chic" becomes a trend, it's not fashionable.

Love my little pup. He gets more gifts and treats then I do lol. They  are our little companions. I'd  imagine a lot of traveling girls have small dogs also.

Easier to train than most of us and cuddle with very low expectations. Listen without interrupting and usually don't try to steal your br/vf. Anything else from the ladies?

Would be one too many for me.

and yes, I have noticed quite a few ladies with small dogs with them as well. Quite a few K Girls come to think of it, but they seem to keep the same ones so I guess they aren't just bringing dinner. Sorry, I just couldn't help myself

Dogs are cool, small smart ones anyway. I don't know how I'd feel about a session with an Irish Wolfhound looking on. I love that breed, too, but not during a session.

But if this trend is leading to a city full of wannabe Zsa Zsas, the future looks suddenly dimmer. Different strokes on different toques, but a Zsa Zsa experience is, IMO, sort of a one-time thing.

Would bringing dog biscuits to a session be in poor taste do you think?

I didn't even think that you might actually be thinking about bringing a real dog biscuit to a session.

Actually, as long as she has a dog of course, I can't see a single thing wrong with it, as a matter of fact since some people think of their pets like others think of their kids, it might make her warm up to you even more. I make fun of "nice guys" here a lot, but there is something to be said for it. She might just go the extra mile for you if you are nice to her "child"

Nope small dog breeds always end up ugly looking plus they bark like assholes nonstop. Big dogs are the best.

I also disagree that dogs cost more than children, .
While a dog or cat 'normally' costs far less too keep than a homo sapien child; I've seen a couple examples where people have spent 10 to $20K or more on veterinarian services for a pet with a serious health issue.

Also; since the 'Insurance industry' controls much of our modern lives the wrong choice of dog can literally cost you thousands extra in homeowner liability insurance premiums. They don't care how much of a cuddly sweet kissy-face baby your Pit Bull, Rottweiler or Collie is; they are going to assess a higher premium simply because of the breed
