I've often wondered if STDs truly had an impact on promiscuity in general. If no STDs existed, would people be fucking more frequently and with greater abandon? Would terms like "safe sex" be thrown out the window, since there was no longer such a thing as "dangerous sex".

I believe that those who think STDs serve a purpose in restricting the casualness of sex may be correct. But is too much sex really a bad thing to begin with? So long as birth control methods are being used, I fail to see the harm in increased sexual activity if STDs were wiped from the face of the earth.
