threads about pee-ing in the shower?
How brainless and irrelevant can we get?

PS: This is intended to be a humorous thread, as is the handle, not one that endorses religious doofusery!
I tend to agree with the evidence presented in the
Freke & Gandy book, "The Jesus Mysteries," published by Harmony books in 1999, that "Jesus" was a mystery myth, just another adaptation in the genre of Osirus-Dionysus.

Nonetheless, if there's nothing left to talk about but peeing in the shower, then ...

made the mistake of trying to "save" me last week while I was trying to get some work done.

I must be getting soft, though, because I actually almost felt sorry for these guys as they made a pathetic attempt to turn around what I said and spin it into a conversation starter- while the all too familiar door was being slammed in their faces.  Apparently this gets them closer to their god in ways I'm not smart enough to comprehend.

But to get back to the original topic, apparently they enjoy getting pee'd upon, though not in the shower.

Very weird to me, to think that "they"(men on this board, categorically) would talk about defecating in the shower, and yet phew on golden showers.  I dont do golden showers but still ...

guess we have a large mentality upon which we draw and it is difficult to draw any consensus except individually, which makes me wonder about the validity of drawing any conclusions based upon any threads

There's a lot of power in Jesus. I lived it for five full years. Then the power left me.

I never did the short-sleeve white shirt thing(in fact I used to eat those guys alive--a third testament? that some guy found in pennsylvania, and then it floated to heaven?); but I pounded the sidewalks with a bible and had great discussions with a lot of people. i was not confrontational, and I had a lot of good answers to their questions.

now i don't know shit.

btw, i was celibate for those five years. had a pretty girlfriend, never even kissed her.

intimacy is a great gift in life.  Fear of god is one thing, but it boils down to mankind's decison not to get laid or at least be open to it.  I say get horny, kiss the one you love, have lots of sex then ask forgiveness later.  life is too short to be a candle...or if you must at least let your flames burn.

Have many questions for you to answer but here's one:

Noted that jesus is a son and has much power, but ultimately final decisons are made by god, a father. To be absolutely safe in salvation, would not it more sense to worship the King of the board and not one of his rooks.

I studied and enjoyed it for five years. Is the book true? How in the hell could I know?

It declares Jesus was with the Father before creation. But they were separate apparently even then, tho who knows what form they were in. God sent Jesus down into human form--and therein he was the full emanation of God, in terms of having the full spirituality and knowledge of God and of Heaven. But he was apparently a full human being. And he was going to die a brutal death. This was his sacrifice. In fact, his cry on the cross, why have you forsaken me, is interpreted as his being--for the first time in his life--separated from God, because Jesus at that moment became the world's sin, and God looks away from sin (isaiah 53: 1,2) or (was it isaiah 59?)(I'm rusty). The point is he and God were One, (until that moment), whatever being One means.

Then he was seated at the right hand of God. So they are separate, by my understanding.

Yet, the N.T. at times is intentionally cryptic (it's a powerful little book) and there's a passage where some dude calls Jesus good and Jesus says, "Why do you call me good, only God is good." Now, he isn't quite saying that he himself is not good, and therefore not God. Is he saying he is in fact God himself, walking right there before us, or that dude at least?

See, it's complicated, perhaps intentionally so.

when He was here on earth: organized religion. Now He is one. If He were dead, he'd be roling over in his grave.

Keanu is a little over-the-top. I was just trying to reign Him in with a little levity on the subject this has turned into.

Couldn't post that one under your normal alias? Someone else asked a theolog. question too in their thread, pityfool I think. Anyway, I took it somewhat seriously. I enjoy the topic.

You do strike me as a bit belligerent tho.

I've always taken them to mean :-@ (confusion), :-& (frustration), and :-x (rude or unspeakable)

Jeez,
now I'm talking to myself. I must be stupid AND confused.

People there are more inclined to have a literal or conservative view on Christianity while in San Francisco or the west coast in general, people have a more liberal view on religion even among Christians.

Being educated in Baptist and Roman Catholic schools, I have no desire to join any organized religion.  IMHO, it should be between oneself and his/her chosen god.
