Play safe with your cell phone.

Text, use the headset, or blue tooth, but keep it away from your brain.  (Which for some of you means, not in your back pocket 8o

Glad you posted this, fish.

One of the biggest changes I have noticed in the 12 years I have been here is that there are a lot more dumb posts.

Before 2007, people were sitting at a real computer and giving some thought to what they posed.  Now, it appears some people are sitting on the john when they add their "thinking" to TER boards.

I do not know for how long the "top 10 posters" buttons have been on TER boards; their existence seems to have invited those who "think" quantity = quality and have "smart" phone allowing them to post no matter what else they are doing.

Looking for very little signal (cancers) in a lot of noise (multi-billions of user-hours)

A while back I decided to do something very similar to what is shown in that graph.  I was able to find historical data on various forms of cancer.  Including brain cancer that these supposed scientific studies attempt to correlate with cell phone usage.  You would think that cancer rates would be on the rise if there was a link to cell phone usage.  Especially considering the massive adoption of these devices.  But the cancer incidence rate shows no such thing.

I sometimes think that people are attempting to make a name for themselves by hoping to find a link that does not exist.

There may be some additional risk, but the benefits of cellphones outweigh the risks, which seem small.  As usual, the researchers hit the experimental animals with 1,000 times + the dosage of radiation per day the average person would be exposed to in using their cellphone.  Until more evidence comes in supporting this, I give this as much credibility as the saccharin scare, or that nearby power lines cause cancer.  In other words, I am going to continue my life as I see fit, knowing full well that I am mortal, and that something will eventually get me.  But not today...
