the first few months that I've seen her, things were great. she was friendly & kind. I have always been respectful & polite to her. when I first met her, she just left her "protection" & another girl that she worked with. about 3 months ago, things started changing. we'd make a time to meet & when I got there, I couldn't contact her. this would happen once in a while, but lately it's gotten really bad. I'd say it got bad about a month & a half ago, seems she would flake on me. I'd get to the hotel & sometimes she would tell me to give her 10-15 mins. after that, I wouldn't hear from her. I would wait up to an hour then leave after making several attempts to contact her. at other times, I wouldn't her from her at all when I arrived. When I do get a hold of her to make an appointment, I ask her if she"s upset with me & she says no & we set a time & place to meet. then when I get there, nothing. I've also noticed that she's working with that other girl again & that the "protection" is back. could they be the reason that she's acting this way? they probably know that I've given her pepper spray, a personal alarm & a stun gun for her protection, when she worked alone. do you think they are wary of me & want to keep me away from her. the other girl might have overheard us talking about me & my work, how some of the people I work with avoid me when I'm pissed off, I become vicious. the other girl was in the bathroom. I had told my provider, a long time ago about my mood swings, but promised that it would never happen around her & she never had an issue with it, she knew I wouldn't do anything to her. I wonder if the other girl told the "protection" about me & he won't let her see me, but she can't let me know? maybe he's worried what I might do, if he abuse's her & I notice, since I know what he looks like, what he drives & I think it's not right to treat a girl bad & take most if not all her hard-earned money.
I know it's not me that's the issue. before the "protection" came back, my provider really didn't worry about the time & we would spend twice as much time together. Once, she told me that if I was too tired, that I could sleep there with her in the same bed. But the last time I saw her, which was awhile ago, she was watching the clock.  
this really upsets me. she was my favorite, she knew how to treat me & we got along great. she was a great GFE & someone I could also talk to.
Is it the "protection" or am I just an idiot? Should I just move on? I'm just concerned for her safety, am I wrong?

Accepting her flakiness in not showing up, giving her weapons that she could get in trouble with, which trouble will come back to you, getting involved with her personal affairs, etc.

Short answer:

Lose her phone number and find someone else, and don't get involved in any personal drama with a provider ever again.

This is supposed to be fun, not the plot of a bad crime movie.
