to hold the bag in place but don't wrap to tight. They have a new cling tight and that works the best. I have a friend who uses this and it seems to work for us.
In many cases a colostomy is a stop gap measure while things are healing inside. Once any infection is gone surgery to remove it and get things up and running again is performed.
Either way, my friend has had his for many years and it has never been a problem for us.

There are number of products... they gave me a catalog at the hospital. Some are even designed for sports activities... jogging, swimming, and so on, but these might be helpful during intimate activities as the goal is similar... to keep the bag in place for a shorter amount of time.
There are some "prep" wipes which I found very helpful to keep the wafer in place for 2 to 3 days. I ended up changing things every 2 days. 3 days was "iffy" and 4 days I ended up having leaks.
