Sending a Selfie

Has anyone else been asked for this as part of the screening process. I recently was - a "thumbs up" selfie to be precise.

Actually, it was part of the negotiation process for screening. She wanted a picture of my ID and the selfie in lieu of not having two recent references or a picture ID and a work related web site. When I balked at the picture ID she said she would setlle for just the selfie because she wanted to know I wasn't an AA.

These screening requirements are pushing me into retiring completely from the hobby.

I'm on P411 but options there are limited. New ladies that show up on Eros and other places don't go there.

I didn't send the selfie and that was the end of it, BTW. Seems like a crazy thing to do to me. How do you know it's not going to end up on twitter?

There are groups out there that have outed people in that manner. Once you attach your picture to your email, the risk increases by quite a bit. I will never tell a provider not to ask for info that she feels makes her safer but that doesn't mean I have to acquiesce to that request. There are many providers who will not ask for that pic but if that becomes the norm, I would leave the hobby as well.

I move along to the next provider. I never try to negotiate their screening requirements and I will never provide a selfie or pic of my ID. We're just not a match.

And I've skipped over quite a few providers because I've been seeing that requirement more and more lately.

No way would I do that. While I understand safety, there is no reason she couldn't take your word for it about race. She could have just told you she'd meet you in the hotel lobby and if you didn't match her requirement she wouldn't make contact.

How would she even know if you sent someone else's picture??

Seems like a sketchy reason to me.

A blurred face selfie while holding a sign with a specific message she asks for would satisfy both requirements. (1) Your the guy communicating in the emails. (2) Your race (or at least your complexion).

But that's a waste of time and possible hotel room rental (assuming you're the only date that day).

But she still wouldn't know that you didn't get someone else to pose with the sign for the blurred photo.
.
And I wouldn't send a photo, blurred or unblurred, either.

Did she really think a black guy was going to show up and pretend to be white? I've done some crazy shit for pussy but pretending to be white ain't one of them.

I understand that her methods are just that -- her methods. She's entitled to ASK whatever she wants, but that doesn't mean I'm going to provide it.

I'm not going to send a photo, my work ID, or any personal info. As has been stated, I never know where that info will wind up.

So when I see something like this in an ad or profile, I simply move along to another potential playmate that's more on the same wavelength.

Not everyone is for everybody.

show up at the incall, she can look through the peephole and if you are AA, she doesn't have to open the door.

I have only given a selfie on request to a lady that I was a regular with.  I would never do it with someone I had not met.  If its a hard rule with her, then I draw a line through her name and contact the next girl on my to-do list.  There are more providers than I will ever have time to see in my remaining lifetime, so I'm not desperate about seeing a particular one where I would throw caution to the wind.

If I know in advance that she wants selfies or pictures of ID, I simply will not contact her. Asking for those is her prerogative, moving on to another provider is mine. No harm, no foul.

I'm fine with providing real world info; but sending copies to "document" it opens me up to too much risk.

I have verification service Okays, whitelists, references and as I mentioned I don't mind sharing my info... but having my DL or a selfie blasted on Twitter for some perceived sleight is not gonna happen.

As a couple of others have mentioned, I'll simply not play if this becomes the rule rather than the exception.

The last 3 PS i've contacted who were advertising on eros have all responded with what seems to be a cut and paste response. All asking for a selfie and a picture of my DL. (Plus a few other asks like race, occupation, etc.). Either way, if a lady doesn't take P411, I move on. There must be plenty of guys willing to send that level of personal info or so many ladies wouldn't be asking for it, I'm just not one of them.

I definitely would NEVER send a selfie to prove I wasn't black

Because I'm BLACK

Right?  I've had some providers request a selfie when I tell them that I'm female. I guess if I leave my vagina home it might fool them  :D :D :D

They always claim that they will delete your info once you’re verified but that’s simply not true. They keep it just Incase you end up being a problem.  Like others have stated, who knows where your info will end up. If P411 isn’t good enough, then I move on.

I have posted this before, but I think it applies here.

About five years ago a provider was busted in a small Wisconsin town, between Milwaukee and Madison.

Part of her screening process had the client take a slefie with the current days news paper.

The men she had sex with were photographed by her husband during the act.

When she got busted the cops found $200K in cash and ledger books with each clients appointment dates, money spent, time, and a cross reference to the photos.  Over 60 men were busted all over the state.  She was sent to prison for tax evasion.

Sooo, don't do it.  Never ever ever.

I never saw her cause she offered BBFS openly.  If you wanted protection you had to bring your own condoms.  No thanks.

Were the men arrested on the basis of their pics alone? That's wild.

I'm guessing that it hard to say it wasn't you with a selfie.  If you send hard evidence, expect to to show  up somewhere.  You can never really trust your information will be deleted.  As someone said earlier, I would put a line through the name, rather than under it.  Move on to the next.  Not worth the exposure.  I go with the ones that accept references.  What makes the difference whether your name is Mark, Matt or Mike.  A good reference is a good customer.  I'm not applying to e-harm0ny.  My safety is just as important, if not more to me.  Hard pass

I don't find anything showing up with a quick search of the web but that alone doesn't mean too much. Do you have some links to the story? All I found that talked about any number of johns getting swept up was reports about sting operations, not follow-ups on evidence found in some prior arrest.

I'm a bit skeptical of the implication you're making here that these 60+ guys were arrested because the records that were kept.

This isn't to say anyone who is saying don't sent any pics is off base -- that is a smart idea and anyone doing so does increase some risks. However I'm not sure that is increasing any risks of either arrest or getting put on some wall of shame by police if a provider gets busted.

Tbh I'm pretty skeptical as well. A provider can have a selfie and an entry on Brad Pitt, but it will be pretty tough to arrest him this way. Not impossible, but pretty damn tough and probably not worth the time.

Much of the evidence can be explained away in different ways. A random selfie can be copied from an Instagram account or a linkedin profile EXCEPT when it can be shown by forensics that the guy sent the selfie from his own phone, even if it's his hobby phone (discovered by search warrant).

Sounds like her neighbor set her up. Small towns are known for outting escorts. Otherwise the cops had no reason to. Everything I have is crypted or I dispose of. Lord's knows I would never want things to fall into the wrong hands

Weak evidence.  But most idiots are convicted based on NOT SHUTTING THE FUCK UP.  They confess.  They try to talk their way out.  Just shut the fuck up and let your lawyer do the talking.

You're absolutely correct except:
1.  Ashley Madison

3. no personal information given is a better case

I had my second experience of a lady asking for a selfie today and that was the ONLY thing she asked for.

So I went back to her ad on Eros and observed that every one of her photos was showing off her butt which I have to admit was truly gorgeous and mouth-watering.

There was not one photo that showed her face.

So go figure.
