Scruples...
Scruples are problematic for anyone engaging in commercial sex in Asia. I was there in the military 'back in the day' and, in retrospect, a lot of the ladies that pleasured me were not doing it because they liked the line of work. Korean girls in particular could be, essentially, sold by their fathers to work off his debts. Or simply there was no real 'legitimate' job for the woman. In Thailand and Singapore things are pretty much in the open and unless you really went someplace stupid you are going to be safe. Make sure you take your own supply of American made condoms and NEVER fail to use one.

I am visiting various far east cities for a few weeks and would like to know the modus operandi for hobbying . Does one just go to the red light area and shop around? Or should one get recommendations from cab drivers/ hotel concierge beforehand? I am afraid of getting hounded/ripped off if I just walk around clueless.
I also have some scruples with supporting human trafficking. How can I ease my mind about that?

Its been years since I've been in Singapore but you seem to be on track. You did not note what other cities you'll be in but I've listed a few recommendations -
Hong Kong - Best track is to go to Wan Chai there are a number of clubs which have 100s of girls looking to get picked up. I always start at Joe Bananas for a drink or The American Restaurant for a meal before engaging in my rounds. The two best clubs are Neptune 2 or Fenwick. Either of these clubs will have an assortment of ladies. Don't start till 10 PM or you'll miss out on the really cute girls.
Shanghai - I've found that Tongren Road clubs have lots of girls looking to get picked up. There are other clubs around but I've always found someone or multiples to take back to my room. Similar to HK.
