Now you're speaking my language.    My experience is (much like how most girls claim they are bisexual) many girls say they are into role play, but there is a smaller minority that are actually into it and can do it well.  I think it takes an interesting combination of a having an open mind and vivid imagination.  I agree that as the client you should have something specific in mind - a certain scene you want to share.  You are there to make your fantasy become reality after all.  But when two creative, like-minded people that are willing to role play it up in the bedroom meet some pretty amazing things can happen.  And honestly even the worst rp experiences I've ever had just give us something to laugh about later.  Like anything in life if you don't take yourself too seriously you'll have a pretty good time.

I've been seeing one gent in Chicago for 8 or 9 years now, and every single one of our dates has been built around an elaborate role play scenario.  
 
Let's see-- I've been a devious black widow, a demanding boss with an eye on my employee's "assets," a Treasury Agent who's uncovered a white collar criminal's web of deceit, and of course, a naughty sister-in-law, lusty MILF, and so many more.
 
Do I have dramatic training? Nope-- but my mind so fully engages with these sexy scenarios, I feel my body responding to each turn of the plot.  
 
Not everyone has the right turn of mind to enjoy this... but I'm definitely the exception.

And when we've role-played it was their idea not mine.  In two cases I told them up front it was "their session" and I'd do whatever they wanted (it was a special circumstance each time).  One said she liked to role play as a naughty school girl who got caught by a teacher and forced to lose her virginity.  The other, after I told her it was "her" session, simply texted me right before my arrival: "You're my ex.  You've been missing me and asked to see me again.  Stay in character the whole time." Both sessions were memorable

Even a couple of sessions might not be enough. Maybe the hookers you see need more of a comfort level, ever bothered to ask them?

The "...don't know what I want but I want something new" kind of phrase is probably pretty common. A person can want to not only experience something new, something s/he's never done, but something s/he's never imagined. The not knowing that the unknown is coming then happening gets pretty exciting. Certain role-plays have several stages, like the longlost lover who demands to hear all the detailed stories of what went down with lovers while they were apart for example, can mix erotic talk, jealousy, and hungry desire all at the same time.

Both of those sound scenarios where she sets the stage sound really hot. I had one great session like that last year where the ladies played a series of roles, each with a different costume.

You're right about not needing any dramatic training and that the adventures start in the mind. Not everyone sees the thrill, and that's easily understood.

I do a lot of Role-Play dates. And every gent wants something different. I have played the girl at the office he had a crush on including her name and a dress she wore (not her dress lol). I have also done daddy/daughter, stepbrother/stepsister, neighbors, etc. I enjoy in-depth scenarios and these are best planned in advance.  

I'm not a constant hobbyist, but on the rare occasion I partake, this is the first question I have-do you roleplay. To me, role play is the difference between an escort and a street walker...I'm not interested in the latter.

So I bought her one for the next time.  She told all her friends about it, so I had to buy several more outfits for them.  Each one vied to be the sluttiest schoolgirl I'd ever met.  There are lots of different outfits available at spiceylingerie.com.

The reality being that this is not a male-initiated proposition. The woman puts up her ad and makes herself available to whoever responds. So when this reality follows through to the session, the moments of seduction, the dance of veils so to speak, is diminished. You both know why you're there and if it doesn't "go as planned" the client at least feels cheated and probably the provider too. So to recapture the magic, a kind of pretense that it might or might not lead to sex ought to be an element. The seduction isn't really a seduction if you know for certain that you'll have a successful "conquest." Beauty demands risk. So role-play gives the illusion of uncertainty. It gives the man the illusion that he is winning something that not every man can win.

Asking for something I've never experienced before, without you having any idea as to what I've already experienced, is a blind draw. The client has to accept the responsibility that he might not like what you dish up for him.
