If you are talking about the number for CCBill that handles their billing, they are not TER Customer Service, nor are they expected to be in any involved with TER Customer Service...they are billing...and yes, you are being unreasonable in that regard.
As many of you know, TER has been down for the last day or so. Sorry it took so long to come back but you would not believe how hard it is to find a “fiber optic load balancer” in downtown Amsterdam on a Sunday afternoon! We finally found one and replaced it this morning. Everything seems to be running well.
Sorry about the down time guys (and gals)

Any reason why the hardware are in Amsterdam.
Just a guess, but maybe because its outside the reach of the FBI.
Financially, most would be wiped out. What would happen to us guys?
however, having looked, I just don't think that there are any better around.
One of life's greatest pleasures is in searching for that elusive special something you need so feverishly that the craving becomes an all encompassing quest...
...and then finding exactly what you needed to satiate the desire somewhere in the hidden back alleys of the Amsterdam underground....
Oh no wait - that was ME!

You guys do a fabulous job and I would be lost without you! XOXO Julie
had found a way to cut me off!
didn't realize what a habit it had become to come check out the boards, glad you are back up.
Glad to see everything back up and running. In spite of all my pissing and moaning at times, TER is still the best show in town.
What is TER's official (or unofficial) stance on the rumors that it was somehow related to the arrest of 'Melissa Wolf' in Georgia? There is an awful lot of gossip going around that you were obliged to comply with a federal judges orders to relinquish data on those gentlemen who posted reviews on her....
In the history of TER we have been contacted only one time by LE, this was related to a murder of a provider in Twin Cities. While I was more than happy to help them with that case, unfortunately I could not as we did not have any info.
I've NEVER been disappointed with TER and their support has been exceptional and timely!
Thanks TER

It did not feel right not to be able to come here! Glad to see you're back!

Yes I did, and I was unable to do some research which cost me an okay experience last night. Awesome site.
TER has always been slow relative to other sites.
For some reason, the message board is much faster
now.
pizza crumbs, and the like.
Same thing happens to me now and then.
I just turn the old lap top upside down shake out the stuff in it and it's as good as new.
And yes, in case you're wondering, I'm the office IT guy.
Happy to see the team back. I thought you may have been forced to close.
God, yes! I was nearly hyperventilating! (OK, not that much, but I was upset.)
Luckily I bought a subscription to TBD (which I'll soon cancel) and saw a message that TER was back up. And it's doubly lucky I did that, since the publicly accessible LA board at TBD has a message from a "provider" I didn't know was still around, dancing on TER's grave. If I had listened to her, I would never have known TER was back.
I think I'm starting to hyperventilate again...

(a very relieved b.)
Yes, I'm sure we all noticed quickly and indeed missed you. But when I called the 800 number for customer assistance, I was told there was no problem and I was the only one reporting a problem. If you have a problem, man, please admit it and give customers an idea of how long it will take to fix it. Mystery crashes help fuel the inherent paranoia that lurks in many of us who hobby and provide, just trying to have a good time while staying out of harm's way.
TER does not have any phone number! Who did you call????
Oh BTW how can they announce the problem when the site is down?? Obviously they did not know it was coming or they would have prevent that from happening!
No, Rocket Scientist, I didn't make it up. In the past, I have called the affiliated number that handles membership for TER, e. g. twice when my membership was not automatically renewed despite automatic payments. In this instance, they said they would report my problem to TER and I would have a response within 24 hours. When I asked if my access problem was unique to me (I wanted to know if the problem was generic or somehow with my computer) they said "yes,no other problem reports." My point is they should have known and been able to respond to customer assistance queries by telephone. Is that unreasonable? I think not.
If you are talking about the number for CCBill that handles their billing, they are not TER Customer Service, nor are they expected to be in any involved with TER Customer Service...they are billing...and yes, you are being unreasonable in that regard.
You are missing the point! TER does not have any Tel. customer service. The people you called know nothing about TER website. They just handle their billing. They are not responsible for giving your message to TER. You do not call Mastercard when your Bank's website is down. Do you?
The point is simple: when TER went down, I, like others wanted to know the cause and the only possible contact number I had was the billing outfit. Since they helped resolve a problem before and offered to contact TER, I accepted. If they had no information, then they should not have answered my question authoritatively that there were no problems with TER. A simple, "we have no way of knowing" would have sufficed. As for your other comments, I already knew that stuff. End of discussion, I hope.
. . . I OD'd on internet porn.
I think it would be a good idea to have a contact e-mail to inquire what's going on in a similar situation. I wasn't worried until I checked and both ping and traceroute commands were unable to resolve the TER URL to an IP address. One thought was that TER domain name was taken off of all DNS servers to prevent access from US. Another thought was that TER staff had taken the site on purpose to prevent LEA from analyzing the site and collecting information.
According to a post on another review site, the name of TER has been singled out in Atlanta by authorities and I'm not sure if TER might be scrutinized in the coming days.
Hans' House of Fiber Optic Load Balancers?
You know the place, right over by the Big Windmill, next to Hashish House in the Red Light District by the Dike across from the Tulip shop.
Sorry, I have been looking for a reason to use every Dutch stereotype in one sentence for quite a while now and you made it too easy.
Sorry - let me make it up to you...let's do lunch. Of course we will go "Dutch treat"
Oh God, now I can't stop...
If that is what the guy in Holland is saying was the problem it sounds like he's blowing some of that good ganja smoke up your ass!
Glad you are back. The X-File conspiracy theories we had to read on other sites while you were down were funny though.
Maybe we should change that to FOLBBBJ, whatdy'a think???
The funny this is that if they have "load balancing" it means they have redundant links that split the traffic load. When one link breaks, the other is supposed to take all the traffic.
That was what I meant by me reference that somebody is blowing smoke up somebodies ass!
thanks for posting!
