This girl calls me at 9:00pm, four days after I was willing to meet her.  I told her I couldn't make it because of the time.  In reality, it was because I didn't have any cash on me since the day I wanted to meet her came and went, I put it back in the bank when I figured she blew me off. I never carry more than $40 on me anyway.  Just my luck, that night was the last night she was visiting, so it was take it or leave it.

In a situation like this, should I have told her of my money situation and just went to an ATM and got twenty $20 bills?

Money's money.  As long as you don't show up with 400 $1 bills, I doubt she cares.  Personally, I just hit up the ATM on my way.

Hey, it's all green. Hundreds or twentys, i don't think she would have cared either way.

I only pay in twenties which is what I get out of the ATM.

I like to carry different denomination bills when I see a girl. I do this becaus eif she hits me up for $50 bucks more and I I have are hundreds screw giving her a full bill. I gaurantee she wont have change. -Joel

I guess there are a lot of gals who don't like a wad of 20s any more than we might like carrying them around..but the bottom line is they still spend.  I seldom have reason to go to the bank, but do try to make an exception in deference to those preferences when possible.  But I've had occasions where I've been unable to get to the bank, explained the situation & have always been told that 20s were OK.  

Meanwhile does anyone besides me think the time is way overdue for ATMs to start spitting out 50s?

Nothing at all "wrong" with them & they many be the denomation of choice in this biz--& I usually include them as at least 1/2 of the donation.  But the fact is my suggestion of 50s for the ATMs is partially, perhaps mainly, because of the misc personal spending I might also do with the ATM withdrawal...some smaller establishments might have to dig too deep to make change for a small purchase...like the local dry cleaners perhaps?  Just seems like 50s would normally do a pretty good job of handling both the gals & the other stuff.

After blowing me off and not calling me for four days, the only way she would have gotten $4000 out of me would be if she painted my house after we were done.

Can't imagine a gal being put off by a wad of twenties.  They work great in the day to day cash ecomomy.  As for 50s, at some point they may displace the twenty but I find when I have both in my wallet I have to be extra careful that I don't confuse them.  The five  can look like a two when the bill is upside down.
