I was involved on the hosting side of this business for a while and you are right in assuming it is becoming more and more difficult to make money at it "honestly".

Answers:
1) How can someone meet these attractive women? Are some of them providers? Just about all of them provide in one way or another.  The price depends on what kind of porn you watch, there are "marquee" names that charge $500-600/hr but there are also woman who've been in 2 MILF films that still charge $300-350/hr.

2) Are all these women/girls pros in the pron business? There is a misconception that there is a magic line a girl can cross to become "pro"...in reality none of the girls in films earn enough money to live so if using porn as the sole source of income makes them pros then the answer is no.  The huge names can make enough feature dancing, from their websites (offering PAY content), and endorsing things like sex toys to live.  Other than those performers with studio contracts a girl will burn through 8 or 10 scenes in a weekend and take home $2-3K for the weekend if she is lucky but if she does that more than 6 times a year the inventory gets saturated with her and no one cares anymore.

3) How can they make any money since it is all free? the amount of money it costs to clean a hard drive of viruses doesn't put a dime in anyone's pocket but the Geek Squad.  Money is still made on subscription sites, the biggest money maker is the $1 three day trial that automatically converts to an annual membership at $250.  Something like 25% of the guys who sign up don't cancel in time and get hit with the charge.  Don't forget banner ads, some clicks are worth $.05 others much less...consider that 60% of the guys who visit a site mistakenly or intentionally click a link and then consider that many sites get a million hits a month that's 600,000 nickels a month at $.01/click.    

4) Why would anyboody pay for porn again if there is huge amount of free porn in the internet? A good deal of what you see on line is condensed (time and quality)...if you are a fan of a performer and have seen her in poor resolution and only saw 5 minutes of a 60 minute video you might be inclined to drop $12/month for a membership to her site.  Or, if you are tired of visiting free sights to scour them for the content you like but can go to a place like Bang Bros, drop your $12/month and have search capability and a huge variety...you might just.

There are ways to make money, and there are guys willing to pay.  Content is king...got the content, you make the money.  Free-sites pfish for the subpar content and take poor quality shortened versions...the mother site generally has enough security and firewall protection to keep the good stuff for themselves.
