I totally agree with the shade of the lingerie and a skin contrast. I personally prefer an aqua or teal shade on darker skin, and black, or navy on a fair skinned woman.

I'm with you!  Color is better.  White is so mundane, normal, ordinary.  I do agree that your coloration has bearing but, IMHO, the darker you are the more color you can wear.  Redheads look good (to me) in ...red and black of course.  But I love ya all whether its in a birthday suit or or a business suit.
