I had an experience that I had to cancel my appointment with a provider who I know in the last minute, though my business trip was planned the day before I made an appointment with a provider.I have called to let her know as soon as I realized that I would not make it.She seemed angry somewhat,,,.
Am I on a black list? Any opinion?

Well, if it was your dentist, shrink or whatever and you cancelled with less than 24 hours notice you could, depending on their fee structure, be hit with the whole fee.

It's not clear from your post how much notice you gave her but, if it 24hrs or more I think she has no reason to be angry, unless of course the arrangements have led to her already incurring some expense - ie hotel, travel, special costume etc  In which case you should be compensated.

If it really was 'last minute' then, she's probably justifiably annoyed and if you want to do the right thing, you really should compensate her. Half the session fee would be appropriate but the full fee would not be unreasonable.

You call her up and tell her that you will pay her for not showing up.  Make it a significant amount - 1/3 to 1/2 of her fee (at least $).

If she is agreeable, ask if you can schedule a session with her for full fee (plus the penalty amount).

Time is money, especially during certain times/days of the week.  She has a right to be miffed (not psycho angry, but at least annoyed - she may have declined other offers because she has already scheduled with you.  If you follow this policy yourself, I guarantee you won't do this to providers too often.

This hobby has a serious amount of two undesirables - slack bastards and slack bitches.  Separate yourself from the pack, Jack.

What exactly happened  was that I was from out of town,my trip was scheduled the day before.I had called her to leave a message if she would be available, then she called me back to tell me that she would. And I came to the town for a meeting to attend, however, meeting was lasted more than I expected and I had to attend the dinner which I would never know how long it would take. Then I called her right away around 5:00PM, though my appointment was 9:00PM with her.I also sent a couple of mails to apologize, but haven't heard anything since. I still should conpensate?
I didn't mean to ignore her,,,.I guess I have shown my regret as much as I could. So this is what happened.

though not a no-show.

Some ladies will reschedule you, some not.  You did likely cost her lost-income for that day.  Especially for someone like me who only meets one friend a day, that is serious.

You have not shown as much regret as you could... if you want to reschedule with her offer her a cancellation fee in addition to her normal session fee next time.  She may or may not accept that.  If not, move on to the next beautiful lady!

Know that a history of that behavior will get around, and it will be harder and harder to schedule dates.  Things come up which is understandable, but don't book an appointment unless you KNOW that your schedule will allow for it.

You erred in making a firm appointment when commonsense should have told you that you would not have control of your own time.  You must have known that there was a likelihood that the meeting would turn into dinner.

When a client makes a booking I assume that they have made the time available in their schedules too.

Imagine if the provider had rung you 4 hours before the appointment and said that sorry, but she'd have to cancel because something better had come up.  You'd be furious, and it wouldn't even have made a dent in your income.

I obviously am on a different planet.  Women cancel on me all the time.  Many at the last minute.  It seems epidemic in this business and the women admit it, especially if they are popular.  They just don't care that much.

I can't believe the responses from the ladies that I have read here. Sounds to me like you had a legit reason for missing the appointment, gave her as much lead time as you could in cancelling the appointment (called around 5 for a 9 appointment) and then took the time to apologize in writing. I wish the ladies were as thoughtful when they flake on appointments as you. If she is going to give you attitude over the matter, just move on.......... there are plently of women out there who know their shit stinks just like everybody else's. Keep the cash in your pocket that they are suggesting you give to this gal and go have some fun.
