I read this quite a bit on posted reviews here on TER. The hobbyist says, "I called her on really short notice due to a last minute cancellation from another provider."

Do the guys calling tell you this at all? If so, does knowing this affect your performance knowing you were second choice or a last ditch effort?

Not alot bothers me .. so my persoal thinking- I am simply pleased he was able to contact me and I was possibly available to show him sometimes the last choice can be the best... ; )

First of all, nobody gets LESS of a performance for any particular reason. Even if I had a session offered FREE, it wouldn't be any different than if my rate was $700 an hour!

As far as feeling second choice, it wouldn't faze me. But, I can tell you this, after our session, I guarantee it would be MUCH MORE likely that I'd be his first choice NEXT TIME! LOL

Unfortunately I can’t answer your question, but your post triggered a different perspective for me.  I try to avoid last minute appointments whenever possible because it denies me two of the greatest associated pleasures:

-Letting the anticipation build over the course of a few days or a week

-Some shameless pre-meeting e-mail flirting with the Lady, especially if it is someone I’ve seen before

because after they see me, they then know they should have picked me in the first place.

All three of you (so far) have the right spirit.  But you gotta admit it is a bit tacky for a guy to go out of his way to mention this.  Of course some providers will ask "what made you choose me?" and some of us may not be quick enough to come up with a story.

No why should it affect performance wise the gent is paying for a service and regardless of whether I am first or second choice, should not matter in what he gets, I mean were not dating, and I have never been told, I was second choice after a cancelation, But again if I was it would not matter to me, cudos to the girl that canceled and the guy for getting around to what he should have done in the first place = )

Oh, I don't know about that.  When I was first starting out, I had some problems with some girls flaking out on appointments.  It was very frustrating.

If I were to read in a review that a lady came through in a pinch -- she was there for the guy when someone else failed -- I would consider that to be a positive attribute in her favor.  That's not tacky; that's informative.  Reliability MATTERS, especially to those of use who have been burned.

Ive read the responses to notabadguy and not wanting to sound mean, but either this board has the biggest bunch of suckers on it or the best liars. No one can tell me that being chosen last is more preferable to them.

Art imitates life and I've seen more TV shows and read more books portraying this scenario. Boys arent chosen last because they are the best player on the team. Then again, I never played girls basketball, so I dont know, maybe the rules were different for girls than the boys. All I know is any guy Ive ever talked to always hated being chosen last.
