Just got a pretty good review in The NY Times. Of course, having gone to numerous M&Gs in Manhattan, I examined the author's cover picture to see if I ever met her. I haven't. Looks like an interesting read though. The Times review: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/13/books/review-whore-of-new-york-liara-roux.html
I read the book over the weekend. Majority of the content is a biography of a lady who had a rough childhood and her journey to and through adulthood.
Sex work narrative represents about 1/3 of the content. Far be it for me to be a critic and ruin a potential sale, so I will not go into any more details. Anyone who has experience in the hobby, male or female, will not find anything supersizing. Well written and a fast read.
When I saw words like “CisGender” and non-binary I knew I had no interest in this read. I could never read the words of a woman who refers to herself as a “They” yet capitalized on the pussy that rewarded her for being an attractive “Her”
I will gently point out that the blurb is written by the publisher, not the author. I haven't read the book so I can't speak for it, but it might be more expansive than the blurb implies.
Perhaps I can help. The author refers to herself as queer and/or bi sexual.
I do not recall any big LBQ...whatever in her book. However, in her personal life she definitely loves other women. There is a hint of Woke, it is not overpowering. I despise woke, it is out of control, however that thinking belongs on a different board. Majority of the narrative as bout her personal life and is limited on "war stories" IMHO.
