had been hit by an ugly tree, and I've seen non-models who I thought could be Cinderella to stepsister Heidi Klum. "Model Material", IMHO, doesn't really mean that they have to look like the general acceptance of what a "Model" would be, but rather what each individual reviewer would consider the next level from an 8 to a 9. In other words, does she look good enough for YOU to think that she belongs in a magazine or ad?
Short answer: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Good luck
For some reason, I've recently become annoyed at the second highest rating for providers' looks – "model material."
I was actually recently with a provider who was a former model. She's 5'8" and extremely slender with medium enhanced breasts. She's model material. I was with another provider who is gorgeous beyond belief but she's 5'1". But if I take the category seriously, she's not model material even if I think she's gorgeous because models are not that short.
The category model material also excludes providers with large breasts or full hips. Some of these are the most beautiful providers in the business, but they aren't built like models. Women built like models are a small subset of women. I'm not even sure that many guys want a woman built like a model. There isn't that much to hold onto. They are not necessarily the most beautiful women in the flesh.
If I were changing the description, I might try something like "a fantasy" or "a living dream." Guys have different ideas of what a hot woman is. The category should allow for beautiful women of different body types.
But of course none of it really matters because the rating are so inconsistent. Just thought I'd throw it out there.
I use average ratings as a guide. Nothing more.
Who models clothes for "bigger" people? Do they make 2 models get into one outfit?
There are models for all kinds of stuff...children's clothes, gloves, etc. If you look at it that way, model material is completely worthless. For all we know, it could be some dude with nice hands. Scary thought, huh?
But I don't think that it says that a 9 is "looks like a lingerie model"
Yes but petite model types like yourself are "Once in a lifetime".

I AM a model, and I have wide hips, huge tits and I'm short. "Model" doesn't signify "fashion" model. There are lingerie models, fitness models and all sorts of other models. I think the narrowness of the term is only defined by the mindset of the individual.
Models come in every shape, size, height, color, etc. There are some very beautiful plus size models!! The winner of America's Next Top Model last year was a plus size woman! And her and her hips are gorgeous!

And then there is bathing suit models I did it ,I am not 5'8 or above and I made lots of friends and money doing it. If you mean runway maybe? I was the poster child for beast cancer awareness for 2 yrs and wasn't tall then either.lol. Ahem Model material is I suppose at first glance those whom are tall and very slemder but then you have print ads, commercials etc. If you think someone is in fact gorge then you might just consider giving her the 10 she deserves. Have a great night , Kendall
is another mans 10. Woman can all (for the most part) look amazing with professional make-up. But take the make-up away and other things that you think makes a model and you have an everyday woman and all her imperfections.

There are MANY short models if you would only pay attention..
Just because most runway models are alarmingly tooth pick thin doesn't mean a provider with some muscle isn't model material..
Try some clothing catalogs..Those women modeling clothes are models..
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..As far as looks, if the average is good, and she is the type you are most attracted to, then she will usually be attractive to you..It works for me as long as someone doesn't leave out bad teeth in their review.. That can ruin the model experience
Unless she's modeling shoes.
..was a model and is surely one of the most beautiful women in the world. I agree that the meaning of the phrase "Model material" should not be restricted to high fashion models and agree with your point that many high fashion models would not be all that appealing with their clothes off (especially the current crop). As others have pointed out, people like Heidi Klum, Claudia Schiffer and Elle Macpherson (all curvy) did swimsuit and lingerie modeling in addition to high fashion.
However, I wouldn't go so far as to say that 9 is just the next step beyond, 8, whatever you conceive that to be.
8 is "Really hot". My view, as I posted on the Boston board recently, is that that covers just about anyone you might see during a stroll down Newbury St. in Boston, or on Ocean Drive in South Beach, or in a sidewalk cafe on Blvd. Saint-Germain in Paris watching the crowds go by. Sure, you can see some really hot women. Are they model material? Very few.
Think of it this way. The best basketball or football player you knew in high school. Did they play in college? Maybe some did. Let's give them an 8 for sports ability - "Really good". Did they make the NBA or the NFL? Very few. That's the level of difference that a 9 - "Model material" should connote, in my view.
Given that "Really hot" can mean different things to different people, "Model material" tries to get at a different level - lots of people would agree that this person is spectacular looking. She could get hired for her beauty alone. Just like in the sports analogy, this is probably only a few percent of the women we would consider "Really hot".
Back to the point of the rant, I'm not sure what other phrase would express that this should be a significantly different level, but I'm not hung up on the words "Model material".

Most of us will view a lady's pics and form our own opinion. It's the performance rating that means most from reviews in determining whether to see a lady. Agree that guys have a widely divergent opinion as to what hot is, and this can be skewed by the tenor of the session they're reviewing. Personally, I have found that the ladies that are active participants in the overall discussions here have never disappointed...without exception, all have been great. This is a significant criteria for me when choosing to see a lady for the first time, though meeting them beforehand at M&G's is the biggest factor, where applicable...
