In an earlier discussion message - Holly Hobby posted and interesting insight - who defines you? There were many great posts to this subject and being a newbie - I had to ask - would others consider what you a hobby or a perversion?

I just had to ask since the discussions on this board have been very helpful- actually I should say - AWESOME! And oh - by the way - I found TER by accident and if I hadn't my first experience would have been a disaster(thank you- it was fantatic!). So thanks to all (both ladies and gents) because you gave me great insight! Hope this question isn't pervasive - but we talk freely about the hobby (and I am loving it) and I just wanted to know your take on subject!  How would others perceive your hobby? And as mentioned above - would they consider it a hobby or a perversion! Just thought I asked!

BTW - love you all - this is a whole new dimension of openess!

As they say - Cyclist do it for centuries!

First off, I don't talk about this hobby  with anyone other than the folks on this board and the ladies that I spend time with. It's not because I'm ashamed or even because it's illegal. It's simply a lifestyle that most people who are not involved in will never fully understand. Fortunately I don't spend too much time worrying about what others would think of me for doing what I do.
I'm sure that there are those who would feel it's a perversion just as some view going to a strip club as a perversion as well. Society as a whole is full of misconceptions when it comes to both women who escort and the men who hire them.  Then again, it's much easier for some folks to condemn what they don't agree with than it is to try and understand it.
I've been with some amazing women in this hobby. Women who, if I brought them with me to a social or family event would totally blow away my friends and family with their intelligence, style, grace and beauty.  The fact that these great ladies are looked upon with disdain by some simply because they choose to accept money for their companionship is, sadly, something we must accept but I will truly never understand.

I like your style! I just was wondering how this is perceived but your reply is outstanding! Thanks! Sorry I asked the question - but know one will really understand in a way - and I agree from what I have seen - the ladies are outstanding! Thanks!

To tell the truth, I don't know, and really don't care.  At no time, when I am involved mentally with my hobby, do I think of what other people would think.  I do know that my SO would be pissed, but other than that, I don't even care.  That being said, I know better than to share!

Words to live by....

Having said that, it depends on which other of my friends, colleagues, family or acquaintances you are talking about. My plan is to never find out...but that's just me.

There is no way I could possibly discuss my hobbying with any of my friends, family, etc. I would anticipate that nobody would understand my need and desire to hobby and they would prob. view me as a low life scum bag who was cheating on his SO (Some of you may think that about me already based on my posts, but that is for another day). So while I may have acquaintances who are also secretly hobbying, I'll never know it and they will never know anything about me.

Someone who has never considered being a hobbyist or a provider would never understand this business and would degrade it from the start.

I want to thank your candor and your responses! I guess being new to the hobby I just had to understand the feelings and thoughts here! Over - the saying would go - shut up and enjoy!

I was chatting with a couple of unknown to me people, and one of the women mentioned that she was divorced, and now remarried.   When I asked her why she was divorced, she replied with "My first husband had a 'hobby'"

Kind of weird that an ex-wife would refer to it as that.

She also could have been referring to him having just 1 lady as a hobby. Also could have been excessive fishing, hunting, golfing, gambling, etc.

I talked about the hobby with my two best friends. Both are trustworthy as proved over a long period of time. One is very unhappy about my choice to dabble in this and let me know about it. The other one was like be safe and have fun.

I don't think I will ever talk about this "hobby" with anyone outside of it again.

She went on to describe how she found a laptop, and pretended to be him for a while, and "dug up dirt" on him.

No it was definately the "hobby" we think it is.
