the provider flakes or has difficulty keeping her part of the agreement. Paying all the $$ up front could lead to problems.

to a valued steady customer than offer a discount.

For example, several gals whom I see have extended our normal 4 hour dinner dates to an overnight package, which suits me fine as I always feel a bit sad to head off into the cold night after parting.

Sometimes this is accompanied by another round of whoopee-making in the AM, and sometimes not.    It depends on our moods, but I find the comfort and intimacy of cuddling in bed even more satisfying.   Of course being 65 now has a lot to do with that.

I prefer more time versus cash discounts. A provider that offers reduced rates with more time will garner a second look from me, and many times I'll book if its an an hour and a half rate at a significant discount. For example, 300 an hour and 450 for two hours. You rarely see that, though. Its more like 300 an hour and 550 for two hours, a 50 discount. At that point, I'd rather book two separate one hour dates - the second being with a different provider.

I'm not saying all girls will stiff you, but this is a terrible idea.  It also gives her no motivation to provide the best service.

Really? I have never had an issue with a provider when I took the offer of a discount. I have no idea where you came up with that thought.

As far as paying in advance, I agree with what the others have already stated. The TER boards have numerous posts about deposits and payments plan gone south. And before providers post how they’ve always honored these options, I realize that you’re out there.

I do a monthly arrangement with someone I know really well. He pays me once a month and we may do 3 or 4 dinner dates, we may do a dinner date and a multiple day, we may not be able to see each other much one month but it really evens out over the next few months. He has a date he pays me every month and it's much lower than if he were to book 4 dinner dates. It is a win win for us BOTH.
These arrangements can work if you 2 know each other really well and have a great connection.

My experiences have been mostly good. I have gotten to know some of the ladies I see regularly fairly well.
I've had a couple of them suggest a discounted rate when they could use the extra cash to cover some unusual expense. I am not suspicious of them, it's a friendship thing for me, because I've known them for a few years.
I don't ever assume a lower rate with them. I go back to their normal rate the next time.

I've also fronted a multi hour appointment to a lady in a city I visit a couple of times a year. But again, this is a woman I've known for a few years. We are friends, we are on each other's personal facebook pages etc.

Several ladies I know have month to month flat rates, or buy four get one free. But that is only in play after several regular visits and a level of trust and chemistry on both sides.

It's all about business models and personalities. There are so many variations as there are personalities.

And my biggest rule is, don't hand out money in advance that I can't afford to lose.

I had taken over a month off of providing to have some surgery done on my sinuses. I felt like offering a discount after my hiatus would be a great way to say I am available, and thankful for my current clients who waited out my break. I was also hoping this would be fun to gain any future clients attention since I have not done a ton of advertising the past year.

My offer was $200 off any future appointment booked during that week. I often get emails and PM's saying "I would love to see you, but you are a bit out of my price range!". I was hoping these gents would take advantage of this discount to finally see me. It turns out only my regulars took advantage of the discount and thought it was a really lovely offer.

I don't think you should judge someone about a discount without knowing why they decided to offer it.

I accepted an offer for a pay-in-advance discount from a provider who was short of her vacation fun money goal. I don't recall the details, but it was about a 25% discount for paying for three 90-minute sessions up front.  I had known her for a few years and saw her at least monthly, so little risk of her just splitting town, declining service, or being difficult to schedule.

Those three things would be on my mind otherwise. Cash up front is a dangerous way for any buyer to do any business.

To me, the ideal quantity discount/frequent client discount would involve the special rate applied to the second, third, etc... visit. For example, If I normally saw my regular once per month, she might offer 1/2 off a second visit in any calendar month. If I don't request a second visit, I'm back to her regular rate. If she blows off my request for a date (because she's catering to her regular-rate clients), I'm free to take my business elsewhere. This would work well with a lower volume provider who genuinely enjoys your company.

discounts during the summer to attract new clients since there are much less tourists in Florida during the hot summers. Yes, it works.

Other providers tour the Northeast to escape the Florida heat but some can't just get away due to personal situations.

So I learned quickly there are no discounts. Wanted to try a Nuru massage and the most appealing provider in the area was priced at a FS level. I know Nuru has a lot of cleanup but just didn't see paying twice the price.
She posted a discount and I figured I'd see if I'd missed judged.
Placed the envelope and went to shower when I returned I was informed my envelope was short. My envelope is never short, ever. I don't want that to be a problem and take a lot of steps to ensure its correct. I also never take anything above the donation to the room. Despite my suspicion I was very embarrassed. Dressed and went back to the car after the session and made up the shortage. I should have left but standing there with a towel makes an angry exit a lot harder. Still haven't done the review but will never go back.

There used to be an ad mall in NYC that was mostly KMPs, AMPs, RMPs and a few indies.  To get more ad business, Pasta probably offered a bonus in the form of a discount coupon for some of the KMPs!  If you bring the coupon, that proves that the ad was working and they would continue to advertise with him. ("I saw the ad" wasn't good enough.) It was usually $50 off.  I clipped a lot of those coupons.  My spending actually went up.
