mrfisher's thread below prompted this question.

For those providers with SO's who know what you do:  How did the subject come up?  Did they know before dating you?  If not, how did you tell them later?

i didn't start providing until my Husband and i were already married...it was something we had both fantasized about, and it was a decision we made together. He has always been involved to some degree in what i do...he reads emails and gives me his man's p.o.v. on whether or not someone might be honest or a flake...he sets my available hours...he is aware of each date i have, who i'm seeing, how long they stay, etc., and he also hears the details afterwards...that last part's just for fun tho. ;)

but that is just us. we have a unique sort of relationship to begin with, in many ways. first, we are a D/s (Dominant/submissive) couple, so he is much more involved and controlling than your average Husband. secondly he is the rare sort of man who is very much aroused by his mate being with other men, and shares me physically with other men outside of providing.

Easy. This is how I met him :o )

Of course, our arrangement is rather odd. He travels almost constantly, so I rarely get to see him. I just saw him recently for the first time in almost 10 months. I have no idea when I'll see him again, but it will probably be several months down the road. But I adore him with all my heart, so sometimes you deal with what you have, not with what you want.

He and I don't talk much about what I do. I know he isn't celibate when he is travelling, or at least I don't expect him to, and he knows what I do. It just doesn't matter though, for the few days when he is here. We just enjoy one another and don't worry about anything else.

When I entered this little world of ours, I made the decision not to have a SO.  I would not make a very good dinner companion, if I were always thinking of a boyfriend.  One of the reasons I enjoy my dates so much is because it is dating for me too.
