I've never really cared too much for Halloween. Tonight though I watched "Re-Cycle"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0498311/

It wasn't really what I would call horror, but I love asian (especially Japanese and Korean) cinema. It was a little preachy, but I enjoyed it none-the-less.

Fairly few movies that spook me much anymore, but the Saw movies were hard to take. Not scary, but too gory for my tastes. The plots are great though I have to say. Movies like The Ring had me pretty wide eyed when I first saw them and genuinely creeped out.

So I have decided to stay up all night watching scary movies. I've started with "The Blair Witch I & II" "The Sixth Sense" & Cujo...

Hoping that you had a fantastic Halloween Night!

For example, I just learned that a senator from a neigboring state eats little children for breakfast.

Who knew?

We start with trick or treating for the little ones and have a little party at our house or at a friends, then once they are asleep we hit all the old classics. The Excorcist, The Omen, and Amityville the Possession. Then we sleep with the lights on for the next month! I am moving to an area where Rob Zombie's House of Shock is a big attraction so that will be on the list next year.

well, the afternoon was spent with a favorite lady. Then I grilled  a  steak, greeted a few trick or treaters, and am just settling down with a snifter of Macallan 18 Gran Reserva (of which I count myself fortunate to have a supply) and an Espresso. Ewa Malas-Godlewska on the stereo set, and I'm good.

I'm listening to Van the man Morrison and sipping on a rather inexpensive cabernet:) I am proud to say it does have a cork however.

Gotta listen to Tir Na Nog, about reincarnated lovers who find each other in this mystical land. Now Neil Young Harvest Moon and I'm off to dreamland. Well maybe a little more candy:)

I also enjoy Old Blue Eyes, modern "smooth" jazz eg Chris Botti, Peter White et al. Euro Jazz eg Kayah, Cesaria Evora.  And if I'm in the mood, some real hardcore blues. But I save the scotch for appropriate music!  Enjoy the remainder of the auspicious day.  (I say this because my ancestors were Celts, to whom the day, Samhain, was quite important, and was celebrated by group sex with the priestesses and human sacrifice)

especially when Grants jacket was being pulled, and you actually saw the material of his coat raise! LOL LOL

It'S a tough pick but TER always wins as you can tell.

Evil Dead 2 - Scary and hilarious at the same time, Sam Raimi before Spider Man made him a household name.  Groovy.

Halloween - Still the best Halloween movie ever.  Tell me that little piano/cheesy synth soundtrack doesn't stick in your head.  Halloween 2 wasn't bad, either.

Alien - Creepy claustrophobia to the max. Ridley Scott did this and then spent two years making the classic Blade Runner.

Creepshow - Bedelia...where's my CAKE!!!  Good scary fun.  Just tell it to call you Billie!

Silver Bullet - Cheesy but will intentioned B-horror movie with a sincere cast.  Gary Busey is a hoot!

War of the Worlds (1953) - Amazingly realistic for 1953, George Pal's special effects have almost the same intensity as Orson Welles' radio broadcast, which was originally intended as a Halloween fright, broadcast on October 30th, 1938.

The Warriors - Not really a scary movie, but something that is perfect for Halloween.  Super cheesy fun by Walter Hill right after he helped adapt the screenplay for Alien.

Unfortunately, after my great time with my guests, someone PM'd me from TER and told me how disappointed he/she was with me for one of my posts. Okay! There's more to life than this, right? Don't worry, darlin'. I'd never mention your name.

But, to salvage the evening, it was nice knowing that the beginning of my Halloween night was magical, and it was TRULY S C A R Y how much fun it was. I think more people should have gotten laid.  :)

Hugs,
Ciara
