An ATF has been having a problem with another provider.  This has now escalated so that that provider's boyfriend has called my ATF and threatened her.   This thread has included rape and physical violence the next time my friend appears for business in one of the cities she often visits.

My ATF is very scared.   But she says that she cannot go to the police, even to make a record of the threats, for the obvious reasons.

I can't think of what to do.   Does anyone have any suggestons?

I think if she screens well enough and doesn't tell ANYONE her location except WELL VERIFIED clients that are visiting her....she will be fine. It's  always a good idea to carry Mase or pepper spray as well. Or, she could possibly tour with another provider so they can watch out for each other. Hope this helps. I feel for her!

probably would not hurt to find a lawyer and explore what her options are.  The lawyer can broker her visit to the police.

She has rights and they can be protected.  Talking to a lawyer at a woman's rights organization in her state would be the way to go.

A threat is just that -  a threat.  You can report this to the police - for the most part.... they would much rather stop a rape and physical violence than an escort activity any day... there are many ways to approach this.

You can say that you frequent a distant city of personal or professional business... and that is why  you go there and continue to travel to that city...

I think she should get a new phone number.

Do not publish it.

It is very easy to update your profiles to say phone number unpublished.

I really don't believe having an unpublished number negatively affects your business and it also helps rid of you of those late night and sometimes whacko calls from anyone!

You can let your regulars know of your NEW "Private" number and as you screen potential clients advise them that you do have a private number to share with them when the time comes.

It is very unfortunate that some people are so greedy and unhappy that they feel threatened by the success of others.
In my 4 years in the hobby I have seen and heard enough of this that sadly I am not surprised to hear it once again.

I would agree that for your ATF, screening is very important and the more research she can do regarding new clients will help her to feel safe so that she can continue with "business as usual."

I have heard that an agency in North Carolina would frequently "Scare" ladies away from touring to his home city. Emails that were sent were published on some other forums.

It is shocking and very sad that some participants in this erotic adVenture cast darkness on something that is meant to embrace companionship, intimacy and all that is SEXY!.

1.  People who are willing to cause you harm to prove a point and/or in retaliation for a slight do not warn you.

The appear when you least expect it and fuck you up-phone games, emails and bullshit not included.

2.  The people in this thread talking a big game about "calling in favors" and carrying concealed weapons are on the fast track to prison if any of this hard talk translates into real-life actions.
This isn't the mafia and we aren't streetwalkers.  TER-related people are generally safely situated in the Disneyland of prostitution and though bad things do occur amongst us from time to time I would think that most of us pride ourselves on safe resolutions and safety precautions to deal with our ills.

3.  Your provider friend needn't be scared-she needs to man up and find a resolution.  At least her enemy is visible as apposed to one of the many situations in which ho-on-ho crime occurs between two women or more and all of the participants aren't even aware of what's going on.

4.  You need to stay out of it lest you make yourself a target.  We don't know the details BUT 9 times out of 10 a clients best bet is to lend an ear-but not much else.

Nobody should be giving advice to anybody here to start carrying weapons.

There isn't an "obviously" to it-

There is right and there is wrong.

You are plainly wrong for instigating violence or assuming that this situation is as cut and dry as what the original poster says it is.

"I'm going to [rape] or [harm] you" is a pretty serious escalation.  

We haven't any idea what the precursors were or what the state of mind of any of the parties involved is-including the "victim".

Pounding our chests and saying "call up a low-life and have their knees broken" is ignorant.

We don't know shit about the circumstances, who instigated it, or even if there is one word of fucking truth to it. To top it off, we're getting the initial information second hand. Everybody is up in arms and breaking limbs for something that may not even exist.

TASERs are sold in Gun Stores/Police Supply Shops.  Depending on where you live, they can be harder to buy than a handgun.  Also the TASER's dart probes are serial numbered and easily traced back to the buyer.  

While better than nothing at all, to use a TASER you have to be relatively close to the target and they are NOT foolproof.  Cops use them but also have pepper spray, a stick, and, ultimately, a gun to fall back on when the TASER fails.

     I am not a lawyer but I think that you should go with your atf to a lawyer and explain the situation.  I would assume that the lawyer would notorize a copy of the report and send by
registered mail a copy of this statement to the offending boyfriend and lady- calmly explaining that if anything happens you will go to the police after the fact and that by having this notorized document witnessed there will be a strong element of credibility to the story.  The
atf will still be attacked  BUT the offender will
get nailed i think

Yes She has rights and LE has the right to investigate everyone...and they do!

Number 4 is the best advice given so far. Lend moral support, but aside from that stay on the sidelines. There are many possible endings to this story, from your perspective almost all of them are bad.

First, be sure not to get involved yourself...  

The ATF needs to look ar resources available to her.  Physical assault is pretty serious.  LE would be involved.  The perp would likely get jail time.

Direct action by the perp would be really dumb.  I'm not saying it hasn't been done, cause I'm sure it has.  One lady I've seen...  a couple of "da boys" hangin near the entrance...  bet an abuser wouldn't make it to the car!

Screen, screen, screen...  get a room that overlooks parking, verify them when they call before letting them up.

BTW, the most serious threat would be if the perp...  dropped a dime on the ATF to LE...  

Use the old phone for initial calls.  I think having a "private number" is a great idea.  Phones are cheap these days!

I live near a not so good part of town. And just recently had my house robbed. Come to find out the ones (adults) that did it had children that know my kids and they put them up to casing my house. Makes me want to hook up and electric fence box to my door frames and all the kids bikes and let them try to steal something...lol!
