They first ask for a deposit, they also try to make things sound as legit as possible with fake websites and information then once they claim to be on the way they ask for a one time deposit that will be returned after the session for their protection, then won't show once they have the money. Once she asked for a $500 deposit I canceled the service and hour later I started getting threatening texts with stock picture of mutilated body's unless I pay $200 or they will tell my family about me and then go on to state they are on the way unless I pay, I received texts from multiple numbers and one claiming to be from a website service provider only for the next message from the website to ask if I was going to pay. Same person multiple numbers. This is the provider who did this to me, all credentials on the website are fake and the school in question is now investigating the provider for false representation.

Seriously, the best advice requires a little more detail. There are a lot of scammers who send out random messages such as, "I know what you did. I know where you live and work. I know [all sorts of stuff]. Send money or else I will out you." Many of those are scammers who are just hoping to get lucky and find someone who is feeling guilty. In most cases, ignore completely.

OTOH, if you know the threat is genuine, maybe from a former date or the booker or BF, that might require a different course of action. Extortion is a worse crime than prostitution and some replies will encourage notification of LE, if it goes that far.

If that is the case, you probably responded to a scam ad and ended up targeted.
Ignore them. It’s not the Mexican cartel. It’s just a scam.

Yeah, it's definitely a scam playing on fear. I received similar threatening messages from someone claiming to have "all my information on me and my family", snd that they would kill us all, if I didn't pay in bitcoin. No family lives with me. I ignored it and blocked the number. No word since.
I've received a few threatening texts. Nothing explicit--I.E. if you know what is good for you you will pay.... One even claimed to be Sicilian. Which would have been more menacing if they hadn't misspelled Sicilian. Just the latest scam.
My favorite is the one where they tell me that they have been recording me masturbating to porn sites and will send the video to all my friends and family unless I send bitcoin immediately. Lol.

Yes, this just happened to me today. Long threatening message saying I booked with a girl and try en never went through with the appointment. Partly true. I did book with a girl, however, the location was a dump and she was not ready when I arrived- she was out buying lunch, lol. I left and the area because it didn’t feel right.
Claimed they were from a cartel. Sent me a video of some punks holding automatic rifles. I’ve blocked them.
This is what happens when you use less reputable sites to book cheap dates. Lesson learned.
