As of 9am EST Thursday March 2nd Site appears to still be down.  I have renewed my annual membership with a CC in the past; Going forward I will just do the money order.  It’s inconvenient but necessary.  I am not too concerned about My identity being stolen on the dark web because;
1.  Premium Membership in Life Lock
2.  Credit Freeze on all 3 Reporting Bureaus; (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion).  If I have not acquired it now, I don’t need it!
3.  CC I have used in the past is now cancelled.
4.  I even have gone as far as getting Home Title Insurance, it sounds crazy, but for $25/month, I sleep better at night!.

Since many of you are more tech-savvy  than I am, and probably have more common sense than me, would you be kind enough to suggest any additional precautions I need to utilize? (Aside from abandoning this great hobby of ours!)

P411 membership?

Really the only thing you can do is pay by money order. If you're pretty set on keeping your membership you might want to try renewing for two years at a time. This way you only have to mail the money order every two years instead of yearly. I started doing that.

If you pay by MO you can send them a pic of the addressed, stamped envelope with the MO made out to them and they will credit your account immediately.

If you've previously supplied P411 with your personal information, that ship has sailed. Personally, I've always found the idea of guys handing over their personal information to such a large target (ie-a verification service) to be a questionable approach. They're more than a large juicy target for LE; their site's security is crap and begging to be hacked.

It's always a good idea to protect yourself from credit/ID fraud, but nothing in your approach will cover you in the event that the site gets hacked and you get blackmailed for being on it, or it gets taken down and LE gets access to all the names associated with the site. (Assuming P411 isn't already sending that info over, like a certain other advertisement site is.)

As I've said before, P411 has none of my personal information - it wasn't necessary when I joined in 2017 since a very kind lady referred me to join. Not sure if it works the same way these days.

So the only real info about me there is my email address, and I only pay by money order. As I stated above, I renew for two years at a time - I should have done the lifetime membership from the beginning, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Nope. When I joined in ‘12 I just needed two provider vouches. And I bought a lifetime membership. Couldn’t live without P411.

Do you remember what the lifetime was back then?

Wow, a true bargain. I don't remember what a lifetime goes for now but it has to be way more than that.
