Some provider reaction to the arrest on SW Twitter

I remember when this hit our community and some of these ladies were on even on TER. So remember when you try to use "I'm a white male, in my 50's and need to be discreet, so I can't go through screening", I see you ... and hit delete. To his victims ... RIPower! 🙏💔
I know no form of screening is 100% guaranteed but if I die, at least the cops will know who to look for and it won't be "Pussyking69 from TER" or "John Smith".
For clients who ask me why I screen 🤷🏻‍♀️. It’s just to protect myself
I sent the link to this article to the man who wouldn’t screen this morning. I included a sweet note that I won’t see him and wished him luck.

1) No one here advises against girls screening. The debate is only whether or not to give up personal info to do it. Believe it or not, it IS possible to screen adequately without it. Lots of girls manage.
2) The poster above to whom you replied is correct: how do YOU know none of the victims screened? There is ZERO about that in the Post article. Using a burner phone and having a fake email address does NOT automatically brand anyone a serial killer. If that were true half the Johns in America would be serial killers. Hell, I'D be a serial killer.
So, girls, please be safe and screen all you want. But the list of guys who were outed with personal info is a LOT longer than the list of girls murdered by serial killers.

No, I read the Forbes article and a local TV station (chanel 4 I think). I'll take a look. No offense was meant, I only asked.

"No one deserves to be murdered for offering sexual services in exchange for money." --There's nothing about the way we treat prostitution in this country that's deserved, and it's what contributes to this type of tragedy more than anything else.

Actually some women are more comfortable and more trusting  with this type of client which plays into the hands of the killer easily. Ted Bundy etc are examples.

A guy in a jacket suit and tie means  nothing if a woman don't screen  stringetly and have someone looking out for her. Someone having  her back is probably the safest bet. Sometimes even a good client of several years can go rogue - one just never know

And by the way someone  having your back don't have to be a pimp .

CKS was being stupid when he pulled one tweet from the OP and titled his link with a FICTIONAL handle.  CKS stupidly makes all TER members look bad.

The tweet in question was merely giving examples of FICTIONAL handles - "John Smith" is one example and the TER handle is another.  It's EXTREMELY stupid of CKS to highlight that so-called handle to make it appear that he was a TER member.  CKS unnecessarily makes us all look bad.

he was an architect freely going about doing what he was doing.  How in hell would have screening saved any one of these gals lives???  Middle age, white, professional class...looks like he checks all the boxes for what the gals are looking for provided he would hand over his PII which would have probably given ZERO indication of what kind of guy he is.  Yeah, read the twitterers triggered upon hearing "professional/middle age/white" but I've read plenty of gals requirements clearly stating No AA, nobody under 30 etc.

There were times when he cooperated with a provider's screening.  The linked article from the NY Times has a picture of the suspect with the caption "Prosecutors say Rex Heuermann took selfies that he sent to help arrange sexual assignations."  So he sent selfies when he was asked.  Did he send them to the poor women he killed before he met them?  We don't know.  We don't know how those meetings were arranged, or where they took place, or any of the details, at least not yet.

I will reiterate what some of the earlier posters have said.  No one, not one of us, thinks there should be no screening.  The issue for us customers is whether or not that screening should require PII.

Exactly how would obtaining PII have saved these women?

Unless the women got his PII, sent it to a couple of friends with instructions to contact LE if she didn't contact them after the session, and showed him that she had done so, I'm not sure it would have stopped him. Unless they do something such as this, a provider is still at risk, isn't she?

Bad people do bad things, and this guy is not just a bad person, he is a monster.  Monsters will seek out victims where they can find them.  In this case, this monster selected providers because he saw them as easy targets.  We'll never know if these providers would have had strict screening procedures, that this guy would have chosen other targets, but that is a plausible possibility.  Obtaining his PII probably would not have saved these women, but it may have saved some other potential victims.  These providers having his PII possibly could have put LE on his trail before he had another chance to strike again.

What I have come to accept while participating in our hobby is that there are risks on both sides of the equation.  Some risks are huge (as in this case) and some are significantly smaller risks, but risks no less.  Both client and provider know the risks and we try to mitigate them to the best of our ability.  However, there is no way to eliminate the risks completely.  Ultimately, we all accept the level of risk that we are willing the take.

Having analyzed and accepted my personal risk tolerance, I am slightly more open to stringent screening procedures that some providers require.  Everyone's risk tolerance is different, and again, risk exposure exists on both sides of the transaction.  I find that knowing I've been well vetted, generally puts my date at ease and allows her to relax and to focus on our time together more openly.

Bottom line:  There are monsters among us, proceed with due caution.

PII..... I'll provide some; only if provider has plenty of "presence" in the industry. But, I limit to what I'm comfortable. If lady wants more, I'm gone. Fella's, there are plenty of ladies out there.... If she wants info you are not comfortable with- STFU, and move along!

I will not face time for verification..... recorded that could be used against me later. And, no matter how hot "Hot Latina" is with a 786 number and no other presence (verbiage, e-mail, twitter, other sites), I'm passing on to the next!!

I see the rules about posting names and links to articles mentioning names only applies to when agencies or providers get arrested (e.g. XOC)? There's no legitimate reason that references can't be made to publicly available information, as has been done here.

Ladies need to do what makes them feel safe and feel comfortable, but this creep would have been okay to go if he provided RWI? So I'm waiting for a lady to respond and explain how RWI would have helped in a case like this. Maybe it would have helped him get caught after the fact but that wouldn't help that lady's safety. I would think that references (recent and with a long history) would be more valuable.

There is no one hundred percent guarantee provided by any screening.

That the mere ASKING for PII might have caused him to go elsewhere. But this monster was clearly going to find a victim.

And again, having gotten his PII, unless she tells him she's sent the information to a friend with strict instructions to call LE, all that would likely happen is he'd steal her phone as part of his crime.

Many years ago, I had a long-term term relationship with a lady I met in P4P. If this horrible fate befell her I think I'd find this motherfucker and . . .

I confess I don't have a solution to this dilemma.
Ladies, do what you feel you need to do. I still won't give out PII. And if that means a lot more jerking off to porn, so be it.

I wonder because when I joined year's ago Gina made me produce articles of incorporation and a lots of other info I would not give to the IRS. Verification is the key to keeping everyone safe. I am not saying p-411 is the answer but it seems to be the best we have ? Some  providers don't like it but what is the alternative. It seems to have a definite standard would be  better than just send me a picture of you DL which can be easily faked ?  My thoughts are in support of all of the great provider out there.

It does for me Hit home ,since I moved out of long island In 2015. The  time a few years back the G gals were found murdered and then the baby and guy ,I started to hate long island, fear for my life like every other escort who was well known at that time out on long island.
I also owned a bachelor party co for strippers for parties ,so I was extra extra careful and worried for the safety of everyone around us. It was no joke for escorts and all sex workers, some of us  changed our cell numbers afraid.  The cops and detectives wanted US to give them our phones and black books  to help them find the killer or killers that were responsible for this ,we would all get an unusual calls asking if we knew anyone ,It was scary times we were on our tippy toes - a lot would only see there regulars and anyone of the regular's could have been a killer, we would say and the sad part is ,he didn't go after just young naive girls ,I know who he is! I'm sick to my stomach .These professional men  spill the beans and talk about their families and situation at home . . He used the hollywood in farmingdale s many freaking times OMG  extended stay in melville ,we at that time didn't know who to trust. rumors were flying everywhere. A lot of us communicated by phone to another friend if we had an outcall to do. what kind of truck or car was he driving and his license plate. You all seem to forget those days nobody really screened ,I know it's so hard to believe., Its nothing like these days where we have to be extra careful and screen ,but a lot of ladies that traveled from out of town , easy check in and check out ,hardly any hotel security on long island nassau and suffolk.  . Alot of escorts, didn't have websites, or provide appt forms to fill out. lot of us had strict rules, professional guys had to obey the ones with websites/reviews.
The professional men also  used craigslist and back page They weren't on eros, eccie ,p411 and probably not ter ,They aren't looking for a trail or trace if they get a bad review about them selves the guy would get a new burner phone .They didnt have text apps ,or google voice or VoIP none of that .last thing any family guy wants is a paper trail leading to him let alone a hair. ,you can never be too careful ,People always get sloppy and always get caught one way or another.

But even if they screened this guy to the fullest.  Looks like he would have come up clean.

Ironically, having screened him to get real ID, he'd HAVE to kill them to prevent being identified, rather than, say, just beating them up or something, in which case they would be alive to make a complaint.

Giving Up PII is a No-No unless you can afford the consequences of a bitter provider outing you if she for any reason of her own decides to expose you. All it takes is one unhinged provider who is unhappy with a review or just doesn't like you. Providers don't give up their real names, identities and employers and neither should OPs. As for the predators, they will always figure out a way around the screening process. Discretion is essential for all parties.

It doesn't give him the right to take someone's daughter, aunt, sister best friends and murder them and have no freakin remorse.Dont tell me he snapped either or another Murdaugh less fortunate family member Daddy goes wacko !,He will probably hang himself or someone will do it to him, while he is in jail waiting trail .forget him being a montser ,someone's going to feed him his own balls !

I saw the same photos - they were side by side with his actual appearance.  In his selfies, he changed his hairstyle and put on a pair of black horn-rimmed glasses.

When you say he went along with screening, you have to remember that this was 2010.  Providers didn't use nearly the sophisticated screening they do today.  Also, the providers he targeted were low end woman.  One was a heroin addict, another had a pimp.  They advertised on Craigslist, Backpage and AFF.  I don't think they screened very thoroughly.

Today TER has almost 400,000 provider profiles.  In 2010 there were only about 140,000 profiles.  And since TER started in Los Angeles as "LAreviewer.com," its impact on the East Coast was far less than it is today.  That's why I don't believe the women were reviewed on TER.  Of course, you can check for yourself - the victims' "hooker names" were published so you can compare them to TER providers with those names who had reviews in 2010.

but he wasn't caught by screening.

Intrusive screening may make companions feel safer, but it just isn't any safer in reality.

No amount of screening will catch a serial killer with no record, or a guy who simply snaps in the moment.

Screening intrusively has zero predictive power for future violence.

I can understand the perception that screening with RWI offers some deterrence, however predators will find a way to act out and not be caught.

The fact is, the only ones affected by intrusive screening are the overwhelmingly vast majority of guys who would not be violent in any case. We all know how that goes, thanks to Stacey Smith and a few others recently.

I wish I had better answers for companion safety, but I don't.

I am wondering if he was connected to the murders of the sw in southern nj near the casinos? , because at that time, girls were missing, ended up dead along the highway. Le were thinking it had some connection ? Omgoodness 2008 2009,2010,2011,2012,2013,2014, cash flow was crazy those days, anything and everything was going on in long island ,people just turned their heads, minding their own . ,You never ever heard of sex workers and that many missing or getting murdered, so it was a shock to every sex worker out on long island. It was not swamped with tons of sw like it is now. I know there were less traveling sw who didn't come
to visit long island when the bodies of the missing were found, and how the Tv channels would play it over, over and over again every channel. Even our regular clients were freaking out , hoping the best for our safety.,a lot of my whales made me call them to let them know I got home safe.
If a client called, we made sure we got his full name ,age occupation and if he belonged to any paid sites or boards and we needed referrals of other providers.
We had way more escort sites, escort agencys, review sites, vip sites, paid sites, and maybe about 200 more..The turn over for gals visiting long island and living there is nothing like it has been the last couple of yrs.I miss long island I had the best times there !.

Someone like that is going to give off bad vibes to any provider he contacts. It seems he purposely targeted low-end/desperate providers since they don't screen or listen to their gut.
