There have been a few posts in the past about protecting your TER and other online activities from prying wives.  I have found that having a dual boot computer is the ideal thing.  Make your computer boot up to an OS automatically - this is the phoney, but fully functional side of your computer where you bookmark things in your browser like gifts for your wife and leave a surfing history of following Hillary Clinton's campaign around on the net.  The other OS is accessible by holding down a keyboard button during boot up and you can protect it further with a password.  Don't PW protect the faux side, as you want her to be satisfied that your balls are securely pursed.  And always sit with your back in the corner of a room so you can see your right and left flank, preventing a sneak attack while in the commission of a critera search or discussion thread.

Just a friendly tip from your fellow trough drinker at the hobby farm.

It's amazing that this type of ingenuity and energy is not being put to use by you to try to [re]create a more satisfying physical relationship with Mrs. holeydiver.

Of course, i have no personal knowledge of the state of your marital relationship.  And I DO NOT want to sound judgemental or, worse still, condemnatory.

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do?

Cheers.

Funny, I do the same thing. Windows during the day, and Ubuntu Linux at night for these purposes.

The computers in my house are all Macs, so everyone gets their own account.  Plus, with Safari, I can turn on private browsing, which means that when I'm done browsing, all of my history files and cookies will be erased.

...toggling would be a bad thing in this situation.  When you start the computer, fake OS begins like any OS on any computer begins.  Hence the beauty of the trick.  If you want "your" OS, you hold down a key at boot up.  On a Mac, you can have two of the same OS, or a Mac OS and a native WIndows OS if you use OSX and Bootcamp on an Intel Mac.  This can be two separate drives or a partitioned drive, I believe.  It even fools MIS people, for those of you at work.  Just be aware IT people can still detect your manuvers on their servers and network.  A box of Krispy Kremes once a week seems to keep them mum.

...so the only Mrs Holeydivers are the providers I meet.  They don't know they are Mrs Holeydivers, which is another beautiful thing.

Ok mac dude don't get too excited.Dual boot on a mac  does not fool this MIS guy ..lol
You can run 2 operating system at the same time use vmware or Zen or parallels or Microsoft Virtual PC. You need at least a gig of ram and P4 CPU ..
One nice feature of this setup would be  be that you run a script on boot that would delete all the cache and crap so your browser would be empty on boot. So if the wife nearly caught you shutting down the virtual machine will kill all the evidence. Actually on some virtual setups you can restore the machine to an original setup.
So lets say your browser was full of fishing tackle , football and fishing tackle. You could launch your virtual machine surf where ever .Shut down the virtual machine and you would be back  to fishing tackle etc.

Outside the best way is to remote to another machine and browse the Internet from that machine . This way all the evidence is not on your local hard drive.

I have not studied this ancient technology.  Could you please direct me towards step-by-step instructions, or give the name of the software for Windows computers?  "Computer....Oh Computer..."

Why not make this simple by using (1) a progrma like Webroot's Window Washer and a spyware program to check for keystroke logging?   I also keep all my bookmarks in my Google account which I only have the password to and which is changed weekly. This is what I use, am I missing anything critical?
