Change your email and Google voice numbers. Google is now using bots and deleting any email or number that is related to Ill illegal activity. So change and moving everything while you can before you lose it.
This will also pertain to app numbers as many are secondary companies of Google and running on the platform or using their back channel interface. My suggestion get a burner phone and proton mail.

Did they specify that your accounts were shut down due to illegal activity?  Did you have any problems with police?

The only issue I see is that a provider who utilizes protonmail who sent me a reference request yesterday was sent to my spam.

I don’t require references & don’t care to provide them, especially without permission, so it didn’t bother me.

It does make sense if she sent the links to her advertisements in the email.

I use my real # to share with my friends. I have had no issues with my personal phone.

I thought Proton mail was supposed to be some super duper great safe email platform... but it goes to spam?? Uugghh. I just switched to it. And not I'm not supposed to use my gmail account either? I'd appreciate the techie guys chiming in🙏🏼

I mean I have to check that folder anyway in case anything important goes there by accident so what's the point of it really? If it is truly a useless email, I can, in one second, just simply delete it from my main inbox.
.
Imo, the cost of missing one important email that sneakily finds its way to spam is much more of a headache than the minimal time it takes to delete some unwanted/junk emails sent to my inbox on occasion.

I have an AOL account from almost 20yrs ago that I use for most spam inducing things and I think I get 75-80 "junk mail" things in there a day. I have filters set for the things I WANT to see rather than for all the ones I don't and it works pretty well.  My gmail rarely gets spam (maybe 1-2x/mo) so I'd agree, having a separate folder makes very little sense. However, since I migrated to Proton and signed up for Tryst, I get about 10 phishing/bot emails from fake Tryst admin or fake client inquiries that Proton is great about sorting into my spam folder and I'm glad for that.
.
But if MY OUTBOUND Proton emails go to someone's spam? That's no bueno. I did recently get back in touch with another old friend and thought it was odd that I'd replied to his inquiry within minutes but then didn't hear from him for almost 2 days, and when I did, he said MY email went to HIS spam folder.... THAT is the kind of stuff I absolutely do not want😵‍💫 If it was a one-off thing, fine, it's weird but he knows me well enough that he was actively checking for my response.  But if it turns out to be a typical Proton issue that MY OUTBOUND emails end up in a potential new friend's spam folder... that's enough reason to send my primary email contact back to Googleland.

Proton should have little impact on whether your email lands in someone’s spam folder. There’s a zillion reasons email goes to spam but it’s usually driven by the receiver not the sender, unless your address is flagged for being spammy.

Burner phone/sim card sounds ideal. Any recommendations?

Google voice and a pre paid phone, the google voice number I rarely use anymore and its for my massage clients, but my prepaid burner I got set up through T-mobile about 6month ago and that's been great. I actually just changed the number last month and haven't had any issues

DL an app called Text Free.

It turns your phone into a burner line.

That's not a problem with Proton. That's a problem with whoever the email service provider is on the receivers' end.

Not sure about Gmail, Yahoo, etc but any email provider should have a way to whitelist email addresses.

It's just a few weeks old so I don't think it'd have had much of a chance to be flagged as spammy  - don't you have to send out batches of emails or have bunches of folks mark your message as spam for that to happen? And it's only ended up in one person's spam folder so far...

Yes a lady in our group had hers shut down. Google also sent an email about AI being introduced. If you go read their TOS for when you sign up for a Google service it says you won’t use it for illegal activities. Although they did not have a way to enforce that until now. With Ai bots they will put in certain keywords and flag that account for manual review. If it violates then it’s shut down. Do with the information what you will but you have been warned. I don’t want them reading my emails or messages.

Yes I had this issue lately with my Gmail that guys told me my email was going to spam too. It’s been like that a year now. So I have to go take their email and send it from another account and tell them to check their spam. More often than not that is where they find my response. My guess is after guys see us they hit
Spam so that any emails we send out to them after our appt goes to spam . After doing that so many times your email is now recognized by the system as spam. Annoying for sure but there is a way to undo it. I looked it up once. But now that Google is shutting ladies emails and voice numbers down saying there is a violation in the terms of service I am not going to bother trying to the email from Google to not be spam now. I just got a proton instead.

As a ex Gmail user for my hobby account I cant say good enough things about protonmail ! Tech type girls and guys may know much more than me about this than me. But a longtime ATF provider who is smart and works in the tech industry recommended protonmail several years ago. I ended up making the change and it has been great for me. Google is so intrusive and always after your info. When traveling to different cites in the USA it would require multiple logins and verifications, a real pain in the ass. Proton for me is the way to go.

I've been meaning to switch from gmail for a while. I'd only switch to protonmail. Maybe this thread is a sign to just do it already.

Set up the proton account and then import everything from your Gmail and set up mail forwarding. There are some niches I’m familiar with but for the most part, I’m a technotard… And I did it in about 3min.
