Have you ever tried to introduce or recruit a civvie friend to  the hobby?

What prompted this effort?  What were the results?  Did he appreciate your efforts?

I tried introducing one of my friends to the hobby; he was having difficulty finding a relationship at the time.  I showed him the TER site, taught him how to sign up for RS2K, and let him take it from there.  He ended up finding a provider who was willing to screen him via his home address, without RS2K.  He thanked me afterwards, although he's not as strongly into hobbying as I am.

Frankly, I'm not particularly proud that I indulge myself this way, but that's an entirely differently conversation.
Anyone who ends up here (or passes through) must do so for their own reasons.

No way! My friends are all fat old beer-bellied farts like me. They'd never make a dime as a provider.

If you mean try to talk a lady into providing -- that is treading on thin ice. There are a lot of possible outcomes and most of them are bad.

Actually, it is ironic that this topic should come up. I have a good friend in Tampa who has decided to get started as a provider, and I have been giving her advice on pics, terminology, screening, building a website (sorry guys, I sent her to rare-escort to help her get started, but I know some you guys hate that site!), and where/how to advertise.

She's just as sweet as can be, so I've been doing all I can to help her get started right. But I haven't corrupted her I swear! She was already a delightful lady of questionable morals when I met her! I am just helping her channel her debauchery where it will do her (and the lucky gentlmen she meets) the most good!

And she was very successful until she decided to  retire recently. I'm sure a lot of gents will be missing her dearly.

Well, I'm single, do well for myself and have no guilt hangups.  After a series of girlfriends I find hobbying so much easier than going through the ritual of finding and dealing with a SO.  

That said, I don't brag about who I see, but I do have a lifelong buddy that knows, and no, I don't encourage him because I think he'd get caught by his wife...and I'm sure she would figure out I had something to do with it  She keeps a close eye on him when I'm around.

I am sure there are some gentlemen here who can chime in and give you their reasons. But for the most part, the rare-escort site is viewed as somewhat 'generic'. Since it is free, it is very popular, so you see lots of rare-escort sites out there. Also, the layout is a template which the escort then adds her own text to, so rare-escort sites tend to look the same. I am sure it does get boring seeing the same style, colors, and layout over and over again. Additionally, the site has a default option that causes an annoying pop up to come up asking you if you want to add the site to your favorites. This feature can be turned off however, as I have done. Finally, some gentlemen have said that the display quality of photos is not very good on rare-escort, so that pics come out small, or grainy, although I have never had that problem when looking at a rare-escort site. I think that covers the majority of complaints some fellows have made about rare-escort. Despite that though, I still use it myself, and don't plan to change in the near future :o )

I've had more than my  fair share of rum and coke this afternoon.  That said...... I'm wondering.......... what is the definition of "moral".  I know what websters says........ but what is your definition?

In case you wonder....... I'm going thru a crisis of my own. ....... My 25 yr old daughter discovered my secret life last week.  I'm coping........ barely.   A whole new territory to navigate.   oh sheesh......... todays rum and cokes are not helping matters.......

Well, the R&C has definitely kicked in, as you probably wanted to post these thoughts in the thread immediatly above this one.

Ah, but nobody's perfect, we all make mistakes, and you're coping with a personal crisis as best you can.  I'm almost tempted to PM you to offer solace, but I must forebear, as we are still strangers despite sharing this little communal corner of cyberspace.  For what it's worth --probably absolutely nothing -- you have my best wishes.

Trite thought time: this too shall pass.

Best wishes to you and to your daughter as you attempt to work out this problem.  It can't be easy; not being a parent, i can't imagine how difficult this must be. [But again, being the child of miserably incompetent and rotten, selfish, cruel parents, maybe i can.  But they did the best they could, i somtimes -- but not very often -- try to think.  It's just that their best wasn't worth a damn on their very best day.  Oh well, time to grab the Jack Daniels and not look at the razor blades].

...the less people that know what I do, the less chance that things can go wrong.  I have a brother whose marriage isn't in good shape, but I'm not steering him to the hobby, b/c it would ultimately ruin him.  He has neither the smarts nor the money to pull this off.  Besides, it would most assuredly come back to bite me in the ass, if I told him about my hobby.  Sometimes I don't like the fact that I live a secret life (I mean, after a great session with a HOT provider you just want to tell the whole world!), but then there are times when I think the fact that it IS a secret is cool in and of itself.

I've turned quite a few men into hobbyists.  Some didn't know and some did know.  I love it.  They don't come with any preconceived notions of the hobby.

My most recent-- and most scarry convert-- was a friend of a friend.  He saw my post on some dating site and one thing led to another.  I eventually told him about the hobby and now he's a fun regular (ok he got one freebie too).
