Re: Ladies......A Poem?

Several months ago, I spent an evening with one of my very favorite ladies. It was, once again, a wonderful evening. After she left, I laid there in my hotel wishing that I had asked her to stay. What I found myself doing was sitting there, writing her a poem. I have no idea why. I'd never done it before, or since. I've seen her a couple of times since, but could never work up the nerve to give it to her, not knowing quite what she would think. There's no "I love you and I can't live without you". I know what the boundaries are. It's just the way I feel about her as a great provider and friend, and me as a client. My questions for the ladies are, "Has anyone ever written you a poem, and how do you think you might react if someone did"? And guys, feel free to chime in and tell me what a sap I am.

Yep, you're a sap. That is neither a good or a bad thing, it is just what you are feeling. They're your feelings and no one has any right to tell you they are good or bad.

Can't really access the situation without a proper reading of your heartfelt feelings.  Don't worry, we are all poets here.

May be artistic but not a sap.  I receive poetry every once in a while,
some from guys that I have never met but tell me they
were inspired by my photos alone.

Who knows
it may just be their m/o or just their way of breaking the ice.
But one poem never hurts and depending on the content
is actually very sweet.

However, several poems, with pictures attached and angry rants
asking why I am not responding is scary!

We all express in different ways, and I've never known a lady to not respond to a heart written poem.

I've written three for providers- two for a friend I have seen many times who was grieving the loss of a friend who bailed out on her- the words just poured onto the keyboard that night after she shared her sadness; later, another one for her describing an aspect of her inner beauty, and she has it framed in her room.

The other one for a lady who impacted me much the same as yours did, only difference is she did stay the night!  :)  She's receiving her poem in a few days.

Yup- I'm a sap who tends to lead with his heart, and I love to write, just the way I express.  Go for it!

Every poem, every song, every art piece ever created for me... is and will always be deeply cherished.

Please share it with her.

Be creepy about it. I am sure she will cherish it.

I have received poems from my lovers and I cherish them.

Share it with her. It takes some guts to be a sap. LOl

My ATF has inspired a couple of poems and several songs that i've shared with her. She hasn't laughed out loud yet so I think she likes them.

Here's the chorus of the first song

So close that door come over here
And take me in your arms
Let Me pretend that you're all mine

Don't make me wait any more
Let's see where this time leads
For a little while, you're all I need

By all means, give it to her.  Just as long as you really remember that you're both who you are, (and there's nothing in there that could scare her!) then most girls would find that simply endearing as hell.

I have gotten the sweetest hand made cards, poems and letters. It is such a treat, as long as it does not "cross that line" and become sappy and gushy and obsessive. I have just ONE that ever pulled that stuff. I just think it is very special to know someone really does adore and appreciate you.
You sound really sweet.

A number of months ago I suggested a corner for poetry and was greeted with a fair amount of derision.
I don't think you are a sap. But you may find this a frustrating environment to be able to express yourself, despite many of the ladies endorsing the idea.
I wanted to work up a book called something like poems by/for providers which would have a 1 page bio and then 1 or 2 1 page poems. Maybe a little cheesecake photo but there needs to be a safe place to develop these ideas. By save I don't mean legal as much as derision.
If enough folks want to try something in this general area drop me a pm and I will try again to get it to fly.
By the way, such a book is almost guaranteed to make damn little money for anyone.

A real man to express his feelings, and a weak one does not as so I've been told. I love to have poetry written for me. I don't know if its my creative side, as I have written since I was 8 years old but I've always expressed myself particularly through words. I say write, create, invent, reinvent romances through thoughts, chivalry, gestures. I once was a hopeless romantic but times and things have certainly changed.

Just my 2cents.

myself inspired after some memorable time and did some poetry writing as well. It was fun to share it with a special lady. I do a lot of 'work writing' and it is nice to do some 'fun' writing as well. I've even been inspired to write some 'literotical roleplay' that I hope to share (and Share in!) this year with a special lady.

So write away! You may discover even more about yourself in the process.

By all means give it to her!  And don't worry about appearing sappy.  I think it takes a real man to do something heartfelt like that...to make yourself vulnerable.  It's very sweet.  And who knows?  Maybe it will enhance future meetings with your special lady!

Sophie - that's a great E.E. Cummings poem on your site.  Very hot.

XOXO,
Stella

..... Well, I'll be honest, writing poetry is about the quickest way to dump yourself into the 'friend' category in civvie life. I'm a musician, and can write beautiful poetry, but I've never wasted one on a woman (this isn't meant to be offensive - it puts you in a category when you start doing things like this - it's not sexy to modern women.)

If this were the victorian era where romance was decided by your wealth and intellect and heavy-traditional romantic tendencies, which by the way, I am prone to.

In southern california , especially in L.A. women have taught me that these things are not wanted and what they prefer is rugged dudes, tatoos, guys that drive quads (I swear that's not why I bought one..) exciting guys, guys that take risks...etc, if they tell you different they are wrong..

Writing poetry categorizes you ... this is not to say a girl couldn't like you for this, or that a provider wouldn't appreciate an 'appreciation poem'...

I'm going on. What I say is write it for providers all you want (providers tend to appreciate the more traditional romantic things -- because they don't often get that from men they are actually attracted too...and they just enjoy respect, as we all do.) keep those poems out of your civvie life man. do yourself a favor. Speaking as someone that's written 1000 poems at least, and over 500 songs, I can tell you the latter might get you laid the former is almost always creepy. (I think back to the scene in white castle where the weed-head guy says.. you should come read my poetry, and kumar punks him out and get's the chick -- that's pretty much how it goes.)

Ok, for full-disclosure I have custom wrote cards for flowers I've sent. Forgot about that, but that was a bright-eyed 21 year old. I am now a haggard 29 year old who wouldn't think of such things... Vermont Teddy Bear should really take me off of their e-mail list.
