call 1-888-567-8688. Once the message starts you will want option #2 (even
though option #1 refers to this email, push #2) and then option #3. Be sure to
listen closely, the first option is only for a two-year period. Make sure you
wait until they prompt for the third option (#3), which opts you out FOREVER.
You should receive their paperwork in the mail confirming the "opting out" in
less than one week after making the call.

I followed your link to snopes and searched under "credit information".

The top search result I read indicated that the message/email was FALSE (i.e. an urban legend).  It goes on to clarify that credit reporting agencies are still bound by restrictions on who they can release info to.

HOWEVER, banks and affiliated financial businesses CAN share your info to third parties now.  It says you must call each individual bank/insurance co./brokerage house/lender to get ON their NO-CALL list  (your referenced number 888-...  only applies to credit reporting agencies.

Sorry for the anal response, but I thought it proper since you evidently want everyone to send the message to "all in your address book" a practice that is imho contemptible.

I called the 888-number, and for the heck of it pressed#1, instead of just going to#2.The recorded voice tells you that the E-mails regarding the release of personal info to anyone, is INCORRECT. You might want to check it out before sending out  copies of the original e-mail, which is INACCURATE!!!. Please THINK before posting!!! This  applies to reviews as welll.. Give a thought as to  how your reviews are worded.

I understand, So It is saying that others can not get informaiton about you that is in reference to the email I posted earlier. However if you go through option #2, it allows you to delete yourself from the system.
