Since most if not all "mean" posts purport to have some value other than their meaness, I'd say this rule by its very construction is a non-starter.

It reminds me of some porn mags from the late 1960s after the SCOTUS ruled that porn was OK as long as their was some "redeeming social value" contained within the particular opus under discussion.  So, porn mags would show the most outrageous cum shot to the face photos and then have a caption expressing the fact that sexologist have found that many women enjoy having men ejaculate on their face.

It made for good wholesome fun, I thought.

So if you are going to be mean, at least be sure you include some socially redeeming feature.

Of these 3 catagories, where do you rate yourself:

This is a word thing. Conan will dig it. I really would rather there was a distinction considered on this board between "sensitive" and "thin skinned." We all know what you mean, and granted the words are interchangeable, but we often refer to people being either sensitive or insensitive to certain aspects of how we communicate and interact. The difference between being sensitive to someone else's needs, privacy, safety, etc., and being thin skinned seem astronomical to me. Oh, we'll, I don't want this to become a candidate for the new and improved rule book revised, but...maybe we could be a tad more sensitive in usage. If you disagree let me know, and I'll try real hard not to be so thin skinned that it makes me cry.
