Not too surprising, I think many of the ladies on the board would agree. It's especially difficult when you are still establishing a certain level of rapport. Dining out is one thing, but snuggling up for the evening is quite another.

Thanks for sharing.

Per my SO, I know I snore, enough that we haven't shared a bed for years.  Of course, it is inaudible to me, but I get more complaints if I went to sleep after a few drinks during the evening.  For my overnighters, (about 10 to 15) I do try to limit the alcohol (though there have been a couple of occasions when we were both really high).  Always, I try to sleep as upright as possible, snuggle but keep my head as far away from her ear as possible, and really try not to get into too deep a sleep.  In the AM my friend always puts on a brave face and says that she hardly heard a thing.  It is clear that they are not just experts at keeping up the sexual fantasy!

And if you are both going to be awake all night, if it was me I'd just make you do me until we were both so tired nothing could wake us! :-)

Giggle,

My dad had HORRIBLE nights sleep because he snored so loudly. He woke up in the morning feeling as though he hadn't slept at all. He went to a sleep Dr. and they put him on a machine, to monitor his sleep, turns out he stopped breathing 52 times that night. So they issued him a breathing machine which he sleeps with, and he said he had THE BEST night that first night when he wore it. When he wears it, he doesn't snore either. (can't figure that one out yet) Drs. Diagnosed him with Sleep Apnia, and prescribed the oxygen machine to help him. Now him and my mom have one too. LOL they share everything down to their meds now. LOL

hmm, interesting article. i do know that it can be a struggle to sleep comfortably next to my Husband, because of his loud, non-rhythmic snoring and also his habit of jerking and thrashing about in the night (have gotten a fist or elbow in the mouth more than once). however there are some clients i've slept very peacefully with...one in particular was a rather large gentleman, about 3 times my weight and a foot taller. His body was so warm and he would always hold me just so, all cradled up against him with a hand on my tummy, even when he was deep asleep. He also didn't snore at all. sleeping with him was a dream, i was always well-rested.

perhaps the reason men generally don't have a difficult time sleeping with a partner could be because they tend to be deeper sleepers, or, especially in the case of a man sleeping with a provider, they are sexually sated and so naturally fall into a deep sleep.
