of all of the above, but many are just thirsting for attention. IMO, most are just looking for how many followers they can get, so they can hopefully attract some advertising and make a little money for doing nothing but being themselves.
I have ZERO presence on social media and I don't know how all the pieces work so I don't know if this is reasonable or not, but ... Jensen suggested "Proposition a few." . Is "I like your Insta. Do you have anything on Onlyfans?" or "... Pornhub?" or "... Seeking?" or "... Reviews on TER?" or some other sites known for other kinds of sharing? Too obvious? . "... Are you listed on any dating sites? Match.com? ChristianMingle? ...?"

I've gotten a few follows from really hot, young-looking girls and when I follow them back it's inevitable that I get a DM shortly afterwards with a "hi how are you". A few times the girls have asked if I'd be interested in having fun. The last time this happened was yesterday in fact and the girl is a really hot Latina. I replied asking for her rate and she told me 200/hr. I asked if she was GFE and she responded "more GFE than you can imagine", LOL. I was tempted but I just had a funny feeling about these girls willing to bang unknown men with no screening whatsoever. And that rate was kind of cheap too.
Interesting that Insta (Facebook) doesn't screen for that activity in the same manner as SA (which is very strict about people talking about P4P). Something to keep an eye on.

although it's rare, Instagram has been known to scour the DMs and deactivate the accounts of those using it for solicitation purposes. And regardless of what people think or feel, losing an account of that magnitude can be rather harmful when it's an integral part of the way a person makes an income (re: directing followers to OF, AVN Stars, Fansly, ect.)
Whenever I'm on Instagram and I'm bombarded with pics from all these traveling models that look like escorts, i wish they would just make it easy and put a link to an Eros ad. It would just make life easier rather than going in with your personal account and playing the game to find out if they are escorts or not. There's plenty of girls on Instagram that i would see in a heartbeat if i knew for sure they were hookers.
Sometimes I'll see these really hot women and in the bio it says "mom" and "married" but they are looking borderline escort. Don't understand why would you try to look like a hooker and then having your husband and kids on a few posts as well.
