Amazingly, I have run into several providers whom, after I gave them a pearl necklace, didn't know that's what it was called.  I always send them the video later.

I have been seeing a provider for awhile and would like to surprise her with a gift.  I am thinking of a necklace.  Is this to much for a first time gift?  Am I over thinking this?

I would not get a big flashy one.... they have those Open heart ones?  
Or get one thats pretty but doesnt scream EXPENSIVE!  

If she can appreciate the beauty of a small token of your feelings, and not be sad that it is not flashy, or gaudy, or pricey... then it was a ok decision. The gift should reflect your affection, and feelings but not be so over the top that either she feels uncomfortable, or starts seeing you as a easy mark for more and more expensive items.  

I think the thought is what is important, and the meaning behind it.. anyone can fork over thousands, but not all can pick one that has more meaning...

Unless you two are exclusive, it's a bit odd to be wearing something a client gave her. What is she going to say when someone asks, "Oh, nice necklace, where did you get it?"

A client bought me a beautiful, $2500 diamond necklace for Christmas... I ended up selling it... I loved it...  

But every time I wore it and my bf saw it, I could tell it bothered him... because he just can not afford to spoil me like that..

I would suggest lingerie as a first time gift.  Great gesture, and you both get to enjoy the gift.  Not to mention it is erotic as hell when you go shopping for it right before the date, instant gratification anyone?  

If she becomes someone you see on a regular basis you will get to know her well enough to pick out more personal items.

Oh and sex toys,  Grab some toys with that lingerie.  For 2 bills maybe a tad more you can walk in with a real nice bag of fun that you can enjoy every time you visit

I know a provider who got a nice expensive necklace from a client with a big initial on it (her provider name initial) she actually had a couple photos on her site wearing it. I'm sure that made the client happy, and she might have worn it when she saw him and possibly with some other clients but she can never use it out of the hobby. Imagine her mom, "Sally, why is there a big M on your necklace?" LOL

but it wasn't. I just threw that letter out as an example. Her provider name didn't start with "M," and her real name wasn't Sally. But it is a true story. Someone I know well enough to know her real name, and know that the real name and provider name first letters are way different.:) I never asked what she ended up doing with it:)

These ladies do it for the money. A gift might make you feel good but cash would make her feel good and that's what she is in it for. I was thinking about my ATF and I would think for her cash would go much further and she would have to sell what you gave her or try to make sure she was wearing it when you met.
