Very new to the hobby...and not used to using covers at all. So when cover goes on with provider, after about 10 minutes Mr. Happy seems to become unhappy (no problems when cover not on). Not sure if it's just loss of sensation, nerves, or both...but at this point I almost expect it to happen. Frustrated as HELL!!! Anyone with advice???
This was discussed on the Erotic Highway recently. You can go there and do a search. The Love Goddess and others consistently give good advice. By the way, you're not the only one with this issue.
Give the female condom a try.... They are great for gentleman who have trouble using traditional condoms. I find that guys either absolutely love them and don't want to use anything else, or they can't get past the 'visual' and would rather just stick with what they know. Some providers are starting to carry them, so it never hurts to ask. Or pick some up yourself. For a while they were really hard to find, had to order them online or pick them up at a sex shop and pay top dollar. But now Rite-aid drugstores are carrying them. Though they stock them in the feminine products section rather than with the condoms. Great price too, think they sell a box of 5 for about 12 dollars(sex stores sell them for 3 times that). They can take a moment for both parties to get adjusted to. It can be awkward for the lady to get it into place if she is not accustomed to using them. I've heard of ladies using a toy to aid in insertion and make it more fun. If both you and the provider are new to them, I'd suggest trying them out with someone you already know and have a comfort level with. Kisses, Amanda Leigh
I have had similar problems with condoms. Try different brands and sizes until you find one that works well for you. A Japanese brand called Crown has worked well for me and to a lesser extent Magnums (because they are not too tight at the base).
Providers generally do not like you to bring your own condoms but I have found that if I bring them in a new, unopened box, they are good with what I bring.
You may also want to try a cock ring before applying the condom. If the condom is too tight the unrolled "ring" at the bottom can act like a cock ring applied in the wrong manner and squeeze the blood out of the penis.
Some have found help by correctly applying a cock ring before the condom goes on. This will prevent the condom from squeezing the blood out of the penis.
Hope springs eternal for all aflicted with this early 21st century issue which can cause servere mental anguish plus actual provider angst over performance. Thank you Amanda for providing specific factual data on this truly amazing invention to all!
Getting used to covers can take some practice. Both the "interruption" as well as the different (or lack of) sensation...
However I found that once you get comfortable, and if you engage in certain "activities" that your SO will not... the cover becomes less of an impediment.
Also, the polyurethane ones can be very nice when applied properly.
