Re: Frustrated Hobbyist

I am still fairly new as a hobbyist, but I am getting frustrated with the many difficulties of meeting providors. A few weeks ago I had an outcall set up in a city I was visiting and I had gotten a hotel for the meeting. The girl was a no call/no show, but promised via email to meet me that weekend. Never happened. Today I had a meeting set up with a usually very reliable agency. Called an hour before the meeting. Supposed to be incall, but they said they thought it was out and would call back. Called back. Girl was sick and couldn't meet. No other options. So I scrambled around trying to find another option. Found a good one, set something up, talked to her on the phone and she said she would call when she was ready. No call ever came. Left couple of messages, but got nothing. Is this common, even with well-reviewed girls as all were? It is extremely frustrating and I just felt the need to vent to people who would understand.

chalk it up to a streak of bad luck.  Give it another try & you'll forget all about the last experience!

If you are dealing with reputable reviewed girls you shouldn't be running into too many problems.

Sometimes even well reviewed girls won't have time to answer VM's or they have other issues going on.     But if they have made a confirmed date it's another story.

On that point the most frustrating thing to me as a provider is the guy who calls five (15) times while I'm busy or asleep and never leaves a message.  I don't return those anymore.

Guys, PLEASE leave a message, even if it's, "Hey this is Joe, I'll call you back another time."

If a girl NCNS's after a confirmed date you should write a review as there's no reason for that.  Even if she broke her leg she should at least have the professionalism to call when she get's home.

That said you should ALWAYS re-confirm a date.

And many agencies have a long rep for poor service, upsells and rip offs. The aren't there to provide you with a service, they are there to separate you from as much of your money as possible as fast as possible.

Stick to reviewed indies with a track record.

Giggle,
TS Jamie

About two years ago I had a run of no show/no calls with the space of a couple of months that made me wonder if it was still all worth it, but then everything started to come up roses and it's been that way for a while now.

Keep the faith.

Met the one that didn't call last night, today. Family emergency. Turned out to be one of the best experiences I've had yet. I guess it was worth the waiting and frustration.

I'm new at this, and I've been having a similar experience.  In the past month, I've contacted five providers, but I've only actually been able to see two.  Of the three I have not seen, the e-mail exchanges have been very slow, or I never hear back from them when I submit my information on their screening form.  If they are too busy to see new clients, that's fine, but maybe a courtesy response to me would be nice, so I'm not left hanging.  Another did cancel at the last minute.  That's no problem, but the excuse was a little flimsy and I did get the feeling I got bumped for a higher priority.  I do have an appointment with one of the five in a couple of weeks, but to be honest, given the track record of slow communication, I'm not real confident that it will actually  happen.

In all of this, I haven't made any faux pas (I did my research well), and I've been polite and haven't needlessly bugged them or anything.

I'm new to this, too, but I'm thinking my plan will be to find a few regulars and stick with them.

I have been kinda lucky on that
sometimes, you just run into the ripoffs, I think part of the business, good and bad
Trust your instincts, I think that is how you learn
Do your due dilience, research, but again, there are some that post their own reviews, so gotta read between the lines.
Even here on the islands you got your ripoffs.
I travel alot, so gotta be on the DL
I use other sites too, due your work...

I feel the same. If a guy can't leave a msg & calls repeatedly I just ignore it usually.

Sorry what happened to the original poster but in this business & I am sure others, sometimes people just don't consider it a priority to them & make other plans or forget appts, etc. But not bothering to let you know they can't make it is wrong & I do feel you. I feel the same way, has happened to me also but vice versa with clients.
