The best way to figure out if the first test is a false positive is to get a second test.

how long do you wait before going back seeing a provider?  I understand after 10-14 days isolation and you're free of symptoms that retesting is not necessary because some remnants of the coronavirus is still present in the system for several months.

and that way we can quarantine together.

Seriously, I guess it would depend on whether or not I actually got sick. No symptoms and I am most likely back at it in 10 days or so, what ever the current guidance is. If I actually got sick I would most likely rely on what the doctors told me to do.

after you tell her you recently tested positive and have met the current quarantine requirements after you're symptom free.

They say 10 days after symptom onset, or 10 days after you tested positive if you have no symptoms

But if no symptoms, it’s likely a false positive, so I would not have the desire to quarantine. That said, I’m probably going to get a second test before I see a provider.

If you test positive and are asymptomatic, it is NOT likely a false positive. It just means YOU are not experiencing any symptoms. Lucky you. Whether you feel the effects or not, you are still able to transmit the virus to others, hence, why asymptomatic people should isolate for a minimum of 10 days after a positive test.
Getting retested would do no good, since your body continues to carry the markers for at least 3 months are the infections period.

If you have "no symptoms" it is NOT "likely a false positive" and you SHOULD quarantine until you test again. Asymptomatic transmission of Covid is the prime way the virus spreads.
I really wish you wouldn't insist on spreading misinformation.
Please read more at the CDC site.

I had mild symptoms for 2 days and near the end of my 10 days isolation.  I’ll wait couple more weeks to get retested before seeing anyone.
