For my hobby email, I use a gmail address.  I just got an email from Google+ asking me if I knew three people and would I want to join their circles?

ALL THREE WERE PROVIDERS, AND I HAD NEVER COMMUNICATED WITH ONE VIA EMAIL.

Makes me wonder and worry how Google is data mining and what they are doing with the information.

Any of you have a similar experience?

But a lot of other agencies with initials knowing the same does bother me.  Have to find a new email provider, but the NSA has pretty well insured that no US email provider is secure and no US commercial encryption system is secure, either.

What do y'all use for email services?

When I send you a PM to your alias?

 I doubt it.

But since I've known your sorry ass for years and years on TER, I'm not gonna give you any hard time about it.  ;)
Here...I just put your post up for you to read again.  Are you saying now that you aren't man enough to fulfill your obligations?  Forget that...you're just a pathetic troll that is seeking TER's Stalker of the Month award.

I've told you that you've got that by a mile.  Heck...at this point I don't see anyone overtaking you for TER Stalker of 2014.

Your mother should be so proud of you.  And your father is busy fucking JLS and NOT Corrine.  Guess you didn't inherit his smarts.  Although he seems to like the older hookers...at least he's still fucking hookers.  Can't say the same about you based on your review(s).

So yep...I am still waiting for that PM....and I will live up to MY word and leave TER forever should you somehow someway be correct in guessing my alias.  Conversely I trust that you'll leave once you realize that you are just a moron and have no fucking clue.

Gotta send more PM's out to those asking about your handle.  So much to do....so little time  LOL

Come on Sissy Boy...maybe CiscoKid can help you out...or marathonman?  Hey...maybe JLS will even PM with you and thank you for your support  LOL

Hushmail is based in Canada, and email is encrypted between other Hushmail users.

If your emailing a non Hushmail user, you can set up a password that the recipient would have to enter to read your encrypted email, or you can send it unencrypted if there is no way for you to communicate the password to the recipient. PM on TER could be a way to communicate the password.

Assuming that there isn't a gymnasium sized workspace somewhere where a few hundred hardworking fools pore over each and every email account on the Internet... A safe assumption...

And assuming that only if you are suspected of a crime or for some other reason draw attention to yourself in the eyes of the powers that be will your email history be examined (if A then high probability of B)...

Then the examined and the examiner face a strange puzzle.

If you've been diligent in keeping ALL your communications "untraceable," the examiner will have to dig deeper. Eventually, wherever the data is hidden, it will ALL be found. Probably.

But if the examined has a healthy trail of socially frowned upon but not necessarily serious in terms of what threatens the powers to be, THEN the examiner says, "Guess we got it all. Nothing here except..."

So... The hobby seems like as good as any tragic flaw waiting to be discovered.

So in that case... Don't bother hiding ANY hobby activity online, via phone, whatever.
In the long, long run, you'll end up in a more comfortable spot in the big, big picture.

A politician can be seriously hurt by spending time in the company of an escort. Especially while in office. Or prior to an election.

So relatively harmless makes "relatively," the keyword in such cases.

Otherwise, the junk mail and such can be viewed as a nuisance, but also as the funhouse mirror you create to reflect your apparent metadata profile.

I'm confident the world is totally lost and confused as to what to make of me or why to bother making anything of me at all

By doing one or all of the following:

1) Use a separate browser for hobby stuff
2) Don't do hobby browsing/emails on phone that has facebook/mail apps set up
3) Use a proxy server or VPN when doing hobby stuff
4) Clear all history/cache/cookies whenever after doing hobby stuf

I'd want to hack into husmail, and I'd get a lot of other crazy ideas, all based on what you've revealed about yourselves thus far.

I do all of the above. It's really not that much trouble. Just a little bit of effort...I mean, how long does it take to open a browser? My VPN is just another browser. I'm using it for this. I have facebook on another browser. My personal emails/all other browsing on a third browser. Before I logged into Facebook, I cleared everything.

I don't have any social networking or mail apps on my phone...not a ton of trouble. I do get most emails on my phone, with the exception of ho-mail, but I have the feeling I'm already boring people. You're more than welcome to PM me about my protocol, tho, if you're curious.

You should hear what I do with my passwords, if you think that's nuts.

If you're wanted by the FBI, your best bet is to fake your own UFO capture and subsequent vaporization at the hand of aliens. Then live out the rest of your days in a Tuscan villa. LOL.

know this: NSA can likely get to any data not encrypted, and can also crack/decrypt most of it.  Good luck trying to go around or outsmart those folks, not going to happen IMO.  you should be worrying about FBI, etc.

However,  if you're not breaking national security, or violating federal or international laws, they're not interested in you.  Same applies to Canadian law with hushmail.  Any US authority has to file a request with CAN, who can then subpoena hushmail and they will comply.

Not to pick on you Court, but that email still resides on googles' servers.  And its backed up.  They can likely "undelete" your account if LE requests it.

Okay, we hate hypotheticals so bear with this.

A 30-year-old woman has a domineering mother who suffers from early dementia. They email each other, but the young woman really doesn't want the correspondence tracked and sold to advertisers. So she encrypts. The FBI sez, "Wassup wit dis?!!" And they dig in, start a file, restrict her travel... Why?

It's a bitch. I have no answer. Have you?

No, because I only ever browse to hobby related sites (like TER or hobby email) using a browser with privacy mode enabled.

It means that windows cannot see other windows cookies, nor are cookies permanently stored when the browser is off.

However Google may still get at some connections if you email a provider and they have emailed other providers in turn.  Or just based on any email you get.

I wouldn't worry about it though - who cares if Google makes a connection between your hobby email and providers?  It doesn't matter so long as there is no link to a real identity outside of what Google finds when you use them

So have I, but my hobby email inbox received an email from Google+ asking me if I wanted to join the "friend circles" of three providers.  Google is tracking who emails who and using pattern analysis to try to get Google+ up to something like Facebook.
Since I use that email only for the hobby, it makes sense that they would see that I was in contact with the three ladies, but it's not much of a stretch for someone to get busted somewhere, then LE to subpoena the email linkages and expose a whole network of providers and clients.  Hacking TER for everyone's information and following that might almost be better, but not sure they could admit the evidence in court.  Next on the six o'clock news!

Do you have a link?

It wouldn't surprise me. Their front page advertises HIPPA-compliance. (That refers to medical privacy regulations in the USA.) Given that they're courting a buttoned-up market that includes government agencies (like the VA and county hospital systems), they have a pretty strong motive to say "yes, of course" when another agency asks for information as part of an investigation.

They also don't make money from hobby accounts, and they have a broadly-worded clause forbidding illegal use of their service. There's probably nothing other than the wording of their privacy policy that could bar them from sharing your information with an investigator, and I would bet that theirs has an exception for cooperating with authorities.
