So the spit does actually work to rehydrate in porn situations. Most people recommend water based lubes as opposed to silicone... And I don't know anyone that would ever recommended oil based.

Just curious if the general spit preference also applies for non-hobby lubing with the SO.  Assuming that no condom is used, skillfully chosen oil-based lubes can combine massage and sex very romantically.  Plus, many older women just cannot produce natural lube sufficient for intercourse and something must be used.  I find spit, or water-based lubes, to be far inferior to good oil lubes if I don't have to worry about damaging a condom.  Just some thoughts.
