I have been checking out lots of providers' websites to see how everyone is marketing herself (research is ongoing for me), and I noticed that some ladies include quotes from their reviews interspersed throughout their sites. Guys- does this help? Does it sway your opinion one way or the other? Ladies- if you do this, do you get feedback on it?

Then I think about legalities and wonder if that's the wisest course of action. But maybe the benefits outweigh the risks?

All I care for is the following....

1. Rate info
2. Phone number/email
3. Verification requirements
4. Recent and preferably undoctored (other than for purposes of removing tattoos) photos.

If I want the reviews I will come here....

Don't know of legal ramifications, but when in doubt its good to be conservative and err on side of caution. Do check with a lawyer..

Product/service, price, promotion, place/distribution.

The product (you) and the services you provide, the prices for these services, how you promote yourself and your site, where you decide to advertise, and how you plan on getting people to view your site and purchase your services.

I mainly find out of a lady's website through her TER page or if she posts on the boards.
And depending on her ratings/reviews/reputation/how she conducts herself on the boards, I may or may not visit her site.
So, the excerpts from reviews don't help much if you can't get the client to go to your site in the first place.
I might take a peek for fun, though.

What matters most to me when it comes to a lady's website is how neat and organized it is, if it answers questions and concerns you may have, if her spelling and grammar are perfect, and if it's visually appealing.

Sarah, instead of including quotes throughout your site, I would have a direct link to your TER profile on multiple pages instead. You have excellent reviews and it gives you more credibility to point the client to an unbiased 3rd party site like TER than to cherry pick a few quotes from a few satisfied customers, something that any lady, or any business for that matter, can do. More often than not, I have found my way to a personal website by way of TER or another board.
The inclusion of review snippets on a personal website carries no weight in my decision making process.  If I hadn't already seen them here, I would look for them here.  I never even glance at the on-site reviews. They may well be fabricated.
The best way to relate your reviews is with links to your review page / profile.  It may present an issue for non VIP's, but at the risk of sounding crass, you can do without the guys that are too cheap, sorry..."frugal"? to pay the $25 for a month of access. That's all it takes to get on board.  If they can't see the value in that investment, how are they going to treat your valuable services?

Agree.  If I see quotes I assume they are self-serving.  Just post a link to your reviews.

On your personal website, include:

1) Brief Intro
2) Donation
3) Gallery of most recent pics (please avoid using pics that are 5-10 years old, even if you look gorgeous 10 years ago, the client will be in for a huge disappointment if you show up looking 5-10 years older than your pics).  
4) Etiquette (e.g. where to leave envelope)
5) Contact info

DO NOT include reviews.  We can find it on TER, p411.  I would hesitate on making an appointment with someone who does that as that there's too much details in the reviews and no way out if caught by LE with provider.  Not difficult to figure out what happens behind closed door when the details are so overtly displayed on your website.  If you're ever caught, hard to defend yourself.  Best to leave all the details for TER, p411.  List services on p411, but NOT on your personal website.  I would avoid code words too (GFE, PSE, Greek).  Too easy to google this up and figure out what this means.  Again hard for you or client to defend himself if caught by LE.  Play smart.  =)

some girls market carefully through Yahoo groups - they make a group and promote themselves there.  others have used twitter.

Non VIPs can still review.  They just do not get all of the features.

You can talk about things you like too.  Not too much detail, but some sites I have seen lists likes and things they like doing for fun.

She may have culled a few good lines from a sea of poor reviews.

Do not excerpt any portion of your TER review. Not even as a hyperlink directly to the review itself. Per TER policy, all reviews are considered the sole property of TER, and excerpting any portion of a review, even portions from general detail, can result in being banned from the site.

Reason being, how do we know it's really a quote from some guy's review.  I have seen those on girls' sites and the handle was not from a TER member.  I assume he's on a different review site and I'm not going to look all over just to see if he's legit.

I also agree about posting the link to your reviews here on your site instead of quotes.  That way, we know the reviews are the real thing.  If you have reviews on other sites, you could post links to them as well.  I don't even bother reading quotes from reviews, I want the real thing, with all the details.

I have seen providers post only the portion that makes them look good. That's manipulating the facts.

If you link directly to your TER profile, for example, then I will more likely to trust you and increase the chances of arranging a session with you.

I am hesitant to link my reviews on my website because of legal implications (I have just been advised not to by a lawyer friend), so I was just wondering if benign quotes, like "She was sweet, blah blah" would encourage anyone to look further. (I haven't asked my lawyer friend specifically re quotes- that may be a no go too.)

Interestingly, all of you said that they don't do anything for you and could be fake, etc. But wouldn't you know by looking me up here? How many of you would just dismiss a lady because she quotes her reviews?

I also hesitate to use quotes because it seems too "braggy" for me. Have to find the balance between good marketing and appearing over the top.

I personally would not want a link to my reviews on my actual website. Just like to be careful, as best as I can.

Sarah, the reason quoted reviews don't carry much weight is because you can selectively include only the good reviews.  When I review a profile, I don't just read the 10/10 reviews, but more importantly I look for 8/7, 6/5, or any negative reviews as well.  It's good to get different perspectives and to read lots of reviews to get a better idea of what the provider looks like or will perform like.  So, the best marketing tool you can get is having great reviews.  Do your best to keep your clients happy.  Be honest.  Don't use pics that are not representative or 10 years old.  Don't show up late or keep rescheduling.  Don't rush or check the clock frequently.  Try to enjoy the meeting when it's on.  Try to engage in a nice conversation with your client to make it less mechanical.  You'll get happy and repeat clients that way.  That's the best marketing you can get.

Just about every woman in the biz has some mention of where you can find proof that she is legit, so it takes the guess work out. When a guy is searching for a provider often times they will skip the woman who makes it hard for him to find any information on her, and move on to the next. I link to TER for two reasons:

1. It takes 2 seconds to click the link vs. him having to go plug my name and city in on some other site, thus leaving MY site. 2. It shows TER how much traffic is coming from my website to theirs, meaning new members for them who may not have even known about review boards.

I know plenty of women without one single review who do just fine, but those same women do not charge by the hour or depend on review boards either. Linking to a fictional site, means nothing. Putting a disclaimer on your site also means nothing. If they busted us based only on reviews, we would have all been in jail long ago. Your screening should be the reason you're not getting into trouble, not the wording or links on a website.

I see such things like statistics in ads and assume they are either out of context or of questionable source.

Might be interpreted to a potential client as "marketing" herself and not really true reviews at all.  Had that happen one time where I called an independent provider asking about a particular review on her site and she had no clue what I was talking about.  I mentioned the specific review and even posted name giving review and even verified that I was talking to the provider (maybe I wasn't). Marketing can be smoke-n-mirrors nowdays.  My opinion, just post a link to TER or other website reviews.  Makes it a little more believable.
