A non-provider got arrested last year for offering sex for playoff tickets.

According to the law it is still the same. Anything exchanged for sex is considered the same as paying for it.

Wish they had arrested me the first time; would have save me a lot of money.

If you don't declare the true value of the exchange to the IRS, you will be guilty of tax evasion as well as soliciting.

Stick to cash.

Most laws against prostitution are written in such a way to say something to the effect of "money or anything of value."

This has probably already been discussed on the "Legal Corner" board.  You might want to search there.
