Can I make a suggestion here about being 'average' and 'her'.
I try to think about 'how I'd feel about her, as a person, if I were blind'! Looks do matter, of course, but they can be so transitory.
I met the America female version of the Elephant Man some years ago (in Virginia) ....and I have to say that I often forgot 'what she looked like' when talking with her, but found (oh so uncomfortably) my stomach suddenly turn over when I did focus on her. I was unhappy with my reaction - sickened by it - but I couldn't deny it (to myself).

As a child I had Polio and it's left me with various 'disabilities' which, as I have gotten older, has had knock-on effects ...and I also have 'Peronnes Disease' (penile deformity that occurs - naturally, no contractable 'Disease' as such involved), and then to follow, your basaic erectile disfunction. Added to which, I'm not a Wow to look at either.

'Average' is, I may suggest, a subjective matter in the minds eye, and a blind girl wouldn't know the difference, unless you / we let it be that way.

As a Post Script here: I'm English in the UK (just visiting )and am surprised to encounter rational and open writing here! It isn't my usual experience.

Don't mistake us Yanks for "rational and open" people.  We're every bit as uptight as you (e.g., the Brits) suspect we are and carry on this schtick PURELY for Staff's amusement (and that of visiting foreigners...).  In truth, most of us are so disfunctional and sociopathic, we make the Normans look like closet Anglophiles.  We mainly post our true beliefs only under alias' so as not to let on...
